How does cabin heating work?

Make sure the "driver focused" button is off on the climate screen. That keeps climate on for the entire cabin even through restart cycles.

It has been, a bit. I just used the cabin heat for the first time today (it was a brisk 28F when I left), but had been using only seat and steering heat until now!

Ford used a conventional resistive heating system in the 2022-23 Lightnings. In 2024, they went to a heat pump. Additionally, I only use the heated seats and steering wheel but my temps rarely drop below 25 degrees in the mountains.

Yes, but every time I shut the car off it turns back on. I’d like it permanently disabled. I’m very willing to waste some power to make the cabin more comfortable especially when I have kids and/or dogs in the back.

Isn't Driver Focused saved with the memory seat? That way your profile/seat memory saves the setting. I know my Driver Focused setting is always off.

My driver focused stays off even when it's only me. I turned that switch off a while ago and it hasn't turned itself back on since. The AC button on the other hand...

Mine is a 2023 and I wish it was possible to get it to stay off. OTOH my AC stays on just fine. I really wish they could figure out software to match their hardware prowess.

I guess my truck Is special then because it makes no difference in sound on my truck, I don't hear anything with it on. If I had to compare to my other truck, it's dead silent.

It's loud when standing outside the truck, compared to what you could expect from an electric vehicle. When in the truck, it just blends in with the sound of the blower motor running.

Wow! You must be used to the cold. If I have my heated seats on the highest setting my entire back would be soaked, but my exposed front would be uncomfortably numb! I have been doing ok down to the 40s, but yesterday and today dipping into the low 30s and upper 20s has me using the cabin heat!

Useless point simply to make a useless argument on the internet because someone is bored. WhoTF cares if it's louder if you can't hear it?

Y'all must be deaf or not driving in truly cold weather. In the truck it is much louder than the blower when using Auto modes

You are completely correct. AND you can hear the difference inside the cabin. Even when driving...albeit slowly.
