I tried a 400kW Ionna charger today and it was good experience. With a warmed up battery pack, I went from 42% to 80% in 23 minutes. On my 2025 Flash the charge speed topped out around 175k and then drifted lower through the session. It had dropped down to 111kW by the end. I was the only one at site while I charged. Also there was a bonus of squeegees and buckets. The squeegee was a bit short so I couldn’t get the whole windshield.

From the receipt
Energy: 53.27 kWh
Session fee*: $22.08
Tax: $0.00
TOTAL: $22.08

These are Massachusetts rates, so your rates will be very likely be lower.

I went during the day and I almost missed them. The squeegees are in the base of the trash barrels, if I remember correctly.

Those alpitronic chargers are the best. I’ve used them with Mercedes, and Walmart charging. I used a Walmart charger the other day and it was a great experience.

im really happy to see they are still expanding and seemed to have found a reliable charger to build out networks.

For the longest the biggest issue was a reliable cabinet to use to build out a network.

This was my charging curve on cold day at the one in Reading, MA. The second one is starting off warm. Love Ionna.

IONNA, in my opinion, is a direct competitor to Tesla in the charging experience. Easy, fast, handshake is a tad slower than Tesla, but speed and reliability are a plus.

on long road trips I will stop at Tesla and IONNA only.

That’s .41 cents per. Not too bad for DCFC. I mostly use SC with their membership when traveling and they are usually 36-41ish per kWh for the most part. More of course in the peoples republic of California of course. 🤣

None useful to me (so far). However I have a planned trip to Colorado in August that should allow me to try out a couple IONNA locations (in addition to a bunch of Tesla locations).

It’s also somewhat telling that Ford is the only major automaker that isn’t invested in Ionna. Even Toyota pitched in.

I used iONNA on my last long distance (1500+ miles, #18) trip and was impressed. Easy to use, nice amenities, fair no-membership-needed pricing.

I hope to see iONNA expand its footprint, especially in the West and Midwest where I do a lot of my traveling. While it is hard to beat Tesla's number of locations and the number of dispensers at each site, I welcome an alternative to Electrify America, whose reliability has slightly improved but the stations still suck - too few dispensers and rarely any amenities.

The Mass Sales tax of 6.25% is packed in to the total, his actual rate for energy was $0.39/kWh
