My Mac TurboTax has the form after updating it today (though I never checked for it before). It was easy to fill out, and did not ask how much you paid for it. Here are the relevant screens:

Right, IRS doesn't care what you paid.

If you try to file today, it's likely to pop up a warning.

I was also able to fill out the details for Form 8911 (Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit). I thought I would be getting 30% back (up to a max of $1000) for my ChargePoint Home Flex charger (plus installation), however there are income thresholds plus it takes into account other credits. So I end up getting zero credit for this. The 7500 credit for the vehicle took me out of the running. If I had put the charger on next year's taxes (ie purchased it in 2023 or not put it into use until 2023) I would have gotten credit. Bummer.

I use TT for the WEB, filed last night at 2330 and IRS accepted my filing 15 minutes later at 2345.

Also got the full credit for the EVSE installation costs, lucky for me AMT factoring didn't claw back any of the credits.

Yep that happened to me last year when I bought my Kona EV and again this year. I guess best plan is ti buy the EVSE on off vehicle years.

It's the AMT (Alternative Minimum Tax) kicking in.

I’ve updated TurboTax and still showing ready soon. Anyone else seeing same thing when they do a smart check on the federal tax portion?

I think this is wrong. I had this screen last week and when I did a smart check at the end it told me they don’t have the form ready. I tried again today after updating TurboTax and when I did a smart check it is showing ready soon. Check the TurboTax forum and others seeing the same thing.

So I could plug in info as if I bought my truck last year to see a general impact on my return next year, right? im always nervous I’m gonna screw this up for next tax year when it counts.

I am getting “Ready Soon” on TT so it’s not ready yet. That’s the one thing preventing me from submitting my taxes so I hope it’s out soon.
