2025 Lariat Lightning
The day finally arrived! New 2025 Lariat with Max Tow and 9.6kw Pro Power. It drives like a dream!

I’ve wanted a Lightning since I first read about them years ago. In October I decided to replace my faithful daily driver with 160,000 miles. Initially, I was thinking of a Model Y, but it didn’t have the cargo capacity or the room that I wanted. The price of the Lightning initially put my off, but I found myself continually coming back to it. I compared the Lightning to other EVs and for me, the Lightning just kept coming out on top.

Local dealers did not have what I wanted. I tried to have them bring in either of the two closest Lariats with Max Tow and Pro Power. They seemed to be slow-walking the deals even though I offered to pay for transport and full MSRP.

In December I cut them out of the loop and went for the truck that I really wanted in the color I wanted. With Lightning production canceled, I was mindful that I would likely only have one chance to to get it right.

It was worth the wait! This truck was made for me!

That’s a younger brother (sister) to my Ruby girl.

Great choice and I’m sure you won’t regret that decision. 👍

Congrats Red!

Out of curiosity does your truck also have the parking pawl recall? I thought Ford had stopped all sales on the truck till this was complete?

Truck looks great and I'm sure you will enjoy it. Welcome to the club!

Very Nice. I think that metallic red really stands out. I shopped around for mine with all dealers in a 500 mile radius. Didn't bother me to drive somewhere and spend the night to get it. I wanted the Flash with the Max Tow and 9.6 power. Haven't used either one yet. I do need to take the 3/4 ton pickup bed trailer down to get a load of gravel one of these days. It will hold 3 tons of gravel and my haul distance is around 30 miles. The flat bed with the John Deere 4052R loaded on it comes in around 10,000 pounds and I haven't taken it out to do any mowing yet.

Congratulations on your new Lightning. Welcome to the forum. Glad to see some not scared off by the discontinuation. I understand why FMC is doing what their doing, but glad that the Lightning was around when I needed a new vehicle. for me, is the perfect vehicle. Enjoy!

When I saw Jim Farley standing next to Trump sitting in the oval office, not long before he made the decision to discontinue the F-150, I thought that the meeting among those men, and other CEOs who were present, probably had something to do with it.

I have a 23 Lariat in the Rapid Red color as well. It has been a fantastic looking and driving truck. BTW the pigment used to make the red is the same base pigment that is used in the brilliant Mazda red. I know one of the chemists who had the project to create this pigment. He always remarks about how great the color looks when we run into him. He has since retired, but cool guy to talk to. But I digress. It’s the best color Ford makes. You did good finding one.

Just my opinion, but likely A LOT to do with it.

Yes, I saw the recall notice in app shortly after signing the papers (early January). I received the notice in the mail the same day that my truck arrived. However, in the Ford Pass app, it currently says that I have "0 active recalls".

Seems like that recall is being ignored by the Ford App. I have it on mine and dropped off the app after the last update to the app. It is still active though. You can see it under recalls on the Ford Web Site with your vin.
