Yeah, was a bad start to the quarter. We got our 2024 Platinum at the end of March and it was one of the last not sold/reserved Lightnings in Michigan, they actually got it from Model-e stock instead of a dealer.

Going into April they had very, very sparse 2024 stock and 2025s were still making their way to dealers which made for rough April numbers. So most of the sales were in May/June.

Next quarter will be more indicative of demand, this one had too much noise.

Was working with a VA dealer on a platinum but after throwing out the number I'd like to see OTD due to it being a 11/24 build with being in their inventory for almost 2 months they've just left me on read so I guess yet again I'll keep my little XLT.

If HR-1 passes this evening, I suspect we will see a boom in last minute EV sales to those who would qualify for the tax credit through 09/30/2025, wait to long you lose:

Surprising. Every other lightning owner I've spoken with absolutely loves their truck.
I believe it's only a matter of time until many of the folks who hate ev's today will have one in their driveway tomorrow.
Word of mouth is the best advertisement

It's possible, but the pull of the familiar is tough to overcome. My boss is pretty conservative and recently got a Mach-e mainly because he was "forced" to by our companies policy on manager lease vehicles where you could get an additional lease vehicle but it had to be a Lightning or a Mach-e.

So he went with a Mach-e, even though he at least jokingly said he will have to figure out where to charge it every day on his way to work like it couldn't make the 30-ish mile drive each day.

Well I asked him yesterday how it was going as he has had it for a little over a month now, and he had nothing but positive things to say. His entire family fights over who gets to drive it, and he said he is constantly surprised at how efficient it is. They only seem to really need to charge it maybe once a week, and that's with the kids and his wife taking it every chance they get.

Anyway, it's both frustrating and a bit hopeful that even someone that was in the camp where he probably would have never bought an EV if it wasn't his only option in this case if they wanted another company lease seems to really love it now that they have had it a while.

The frustrating part though is this isn't something everyone will get a chance to do and there will continue to be many who will just not even try it. Also if our government doesn't make it easier for apartments/condos to have some kind of on-site charging, there will be huge groups of potential customers who understandably don't want the hassle if they can't charge at home.

Not many folks seem to interested to learn from the Tesla folks and their habits of charging their Tesla vehicles.
I have noticed how many of them use the supercharging network. They stop by, charge for 10 minutes and they leave. It is routine to them even if they living in an apartment or rental housing. End of the work day, stop by the supercharger, take a 10 min charge and go home. Not a bad routine if you wondering where you going to get a charge every other day.
The Tesla ecosystem has made it convenient for them.
Difficult habit to break when you have a gas station every other block. You don’t have to think anymore, like us EV owners. Off course if you have your own charger at home, it becomes a mindless behavior.
I have watched my neighbors from the day I brought my MME home 4 years ago. Then my Lightning. Couple of them are scared to drive an EV. Most of them want to dip their toes into this new experience. They don’t want to change their routines. They feel more comfortable driving couple miles and fill their tanks. Something that are familiar with. A fuel gauge, either is full, empty or somewhere in between.

I absolutely LOVE my Lightning and I've had for over a year now ( I've been driving EVs for 13 years now). JUST LOVE IT!... what I don't love is the FordPass app and the entire Ford ecosystem that Ford is subjecting us to. Their BS with Tesla adapters technically useless and FordPass public charging option completely flawed in my personal experience of course (very frustrating)... so I stopped using it entirely...
But on the subject of subsidies ending, etc I am for it! Let people choose whatever they want to drive! When automobiles first became reality, people were saying they will NEVER replace horses! And history proved them wrong... People are creatures of habits and it takes actual curiosity for anyone to learn about EVs in general... I have conversations with ppl constantly. They walk over and ask me questions especially when I have my frunk open, lol!... One guy was beating himself over buying Tundra for $110K after I gave him the entire shpiel on why I love my truck so much, lol!

Cheers everyone!
Happy 4th!!

The final version of HR 1 has passed the House, encourage your friends & family who are on the fence about buying an EV that federal tax incentives will cease after 9/30/2025!

Price sells cars. Want to know why GM’s EV sales are going bonkers? Check out their crazy lease incentives.

Ford’s offers in Q1 & Q2 have been weak compared to last year. We’re past the point of people paying over sticker for these trucks. They need to get back to discounts to move them.

I commute ~90 miles a day. Charge at home. Wife loves the MME (59K miles) and I roll the LTE (46K miles). the reason none of my crew would buy an EV is principally $$$ followed by long haul trailer towing to Idaho & MT happy hunting grounds. But they sure like to ride in the LTE!

I see a lot of gas/diesel 3/4-1 tons cruising at 55 now.. given our fuel hit $5/gallon. I roll at 80 MPGE very consistently. With electricity at 6.4 Pennie’s per kWh, BEV w/charge at home is a no-brainer if daily max mileage under 225-250 (depending on where you live).
