Thanks Jesse!

I had some PCM DTCs when @Mike G ran my VIN:

C0604
C0630
P161C
U0111

The update shows as still available (green "run"). You are saying to just ignore the update?
You can attempt to clear those. I would bet they are all :08 status meaning not currently active.

FOr now yes.. I would ignore it. The update wont clear if it doesnt have a successful Config. The module is updated though if it flashed. The PCM only as one file the strategy. So if you saw the flashing occur the its updated.

you can TRY the configuration also.. But end of the day sounds like a issue on Fords end

I just hate not being able to complete an update after spending $120. Oh well...

Thank you for the help!

I understand. Been many updates like that over the years.. they wont clear.. one was the GSM for the ICE trucks. THe ACM.. The PCM for some power boost. Nothing new.

If they ping your truck run the interrogator it will clear it. Just the data submission is at the end after the config. Network scans arent as common in the new FDRS..

Just to close the loop on this PCM thing, I checked FDRS today to see if the PCM cleared and to see if anything else magically popped up that needed to be updated before my two-day subscription ended.

The PCM has cleared and no more updates available 👍🎉

I know the cost to use FDRS has gone up, but there is a very reasonably priced used Mongoose over on the ICE forum - https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/mongoose-plus-ford-cable-300-shipped.43325/post-725348
Which is what the Topdon Rlink J2532 costs, and it works on multiple OEM systems......not just Fords.

I have one of those I got during a Prime event, and it works just as well as my Mongoose does.

I got it with the intention of testing it out and then passing it on to one of my kids. I still use a VCM3 primarily, but would have no problems using the Rlink instead.

does anyone know if walk away lock can be updated via FDRS? if not, can it be sideloaded with Forscan?

I've never done it because I haven't had to, but it can be side-loaded if you are able to source the correct files. The BCM is VIN coded, so you would need to write your VIN to the proper block after you flash it.

I will STRONGLY suggest you do not trust FORScan to pull the correct files on its own. It's one thing FAAFO with a door module or something minor, but a bricked BCM will turn your truck into a 3 and a half ton paperweight.

Was just wondering if it could be done with the beta forscan. Updated the IPC on my 23 last week with one from a 24 to get the charge rate. Took 5.5 hours so wasn't the fastest process. Already had my bcm updated at the dealer though. Maybe @Jesse-Infotainment has some insight

Thanks! Hopefully Ford can deliver OTA soon to the north

You can sideload the BCM update in Forscan. not really a big deal. You just need the files..

I used to be able to get a lot of it but Ford has declared war on me.. I cant even have an active FDRS account it gets banned the second I log in.

BCM doesn't take that long to flash maybe 3-5 mins.

Need to load the files in the correct spot and that's it. As far as the vin goes nothing in the as build will change during a flash of the BCM. You will have to write all after to clear the 2100 DTC.

There may be some as build changes after the update in FDRS.. but its easy enough to parse them out from a 24 as build.
