Well something finally showed up this morning.

I've got a new APIM (Sync) update waiting to get applied so I'll grab some coffee and fire up the FDRS laptop to update that and see if anything more pops up afterwards (as it sometimes does).

Also, PTS says my Sync system previously got updated on the 8th of Jan at 4:42 in the afternoon....I don't remember seeing anything update at that time. Maybe it was some server side update or something. Weird.

So...I just got back in the house, and you're right...I don't know what that was.

No software downloaded, just a javatest of some sort...it stepped though a bunch of this that and the other, reset the APIM, and 'cleared dtcs' a few times (I don't know if there actually were any, really) and then it was done.

No rev change, nothing visible...glare-free lights still shows as active along with my WAL settings and no real evidence that anything happened.

I've attached the javatest file I found in the application manifest folder and renamed it with a .txt extension so it can be opened with notepad. I have no idea what it was doing...I'm not the smartest on java and '.json' files.

There's nothing that says you have to immediately update if you don't want to. But if you do, you should update both FDRS and the VCI software at the same time. At least that's the inference I'm getting from the wording above. Always subject to interpretation I suppose.

On the software download page.... step 1 is to install the new FDRS...and then step 2 is the new VCI update....just so you know.

Attached is the VCI "what's new" pdf...although there doesn't seem to be any mention of what actually changed in this release.

My understanding was you only needed the ford VCM software installed if you were using the ford VCI modules. I am using the Bosch master tech 2 so I never installed the ford VCM stuff and install/update software and firmware for my device with bosch software. Not sure many independent updating people such as us will have a ford VCM 2 or VCMM.

But this is just for my situation, not sure if the other VCI use fords software for interfacing with the drivers.

31 Jan 26 and even though the full compliance bulletin has been released for 25C69 (parking module update)...the actual software remedy is only available for the 2026 Maverick Hybrid so far.

In other news, my '22 Lightning VIN shows that I have a new 6.4GB APIM update as of this morning (wasn't there yesterday). Oh, and I just noticed that I also have a pending OTA for that same APIM update ( SYNC-25.2.1.6.5.2 )...jeez...I would hope that a 6.4GB APIM update would address more than just "XM Radio Improvements"...but that's all the note says....wow.

I thought I had that already....the ones in Conyers, GA show up on my map when I'm passing through there. That's where I charge on the way to Augusta.

I got that SYNC-25.2.1.6.5.2 OTA yesterday while driving. Same XM notes. I haven’t dug around much to see if anything else changed.
