No Walk-Away or Phone As Key

Went to my scheduled maintenance and while there requested to have the locking system updated (willing to pay). Wanted WAL and PAAK. I was told that the 2025 F-150 Lightning Flash trim model had the hardware and code removed and was not available --- period.

Does this seem right, or does my dealership not want to do it for some reason.

I can lock/unlock with the phone and pre-condition the cab. The pickup knows when the fob is close or in the pickup. This doesn't make that much sense to me.

Accurate most likely, I'm in the same situation. WAL *may* be available somehow, the truck will very occasionally light up when I walk near with the keys. PAAK requires a separate module. It's an extraordinarily dumb decontenting decision on Ford's part, especially given it wasn't advertised so didn't even know I should've bought a higher trim. Still pretty happy with it though, just coulda been more happy with it...

I am considering the addon alarm module but cant tell all that it offers. Does it give you those features ot just a more sensitive horn trigger.

Shock sensor that's about all it adds from what we already have installed.

I have a 25 Flash also without paak and wal. I would have turned wal off any way so it's a non event for me.

The Flash doesnt have Paak.. It should have walk away lock though.

Ill have to look at a 25 as build.. wierd they would disable that. I had a 24 Flash orior to my Platinum.. it had Walk away lock.. I didnt care for it much since I didnt have any way or confirmation it locked outside turning on the audible confirmation. My New truck having PAAK notifies via Fordpass the truck has been locked.

I looked and they dont have it enabled. It is easy enough to enable with Forscan.

COuple changes. One in BCM and one in APIM.

2025 Lariat. My WAL works like a charm. I walk away and when I’m roughly 25 feet away, the park/brake lights flash, mirrors fold and my phone gets a notification the vibrates my Garmin watch. My watch simply says, Your Ford vehicle has locked using the walk away lock feature, or something like that. I’ll miss this when my Lightning goes away 🫤

Looking at the workshop manual at the difference between a PAAK-equipped vehicle and a regular PATS vehicle (non-PAAK), there are radio antennas in each door handle and Bluetooth modules in each door and the frunk. Plus a RFA module (Remote Function Actuator).

My truck has the sensors in the door handles to unlock when I grab it, I think they deleted that RFA module and/or the bluetooth in order for paak to work. They deleted the door keypad as well so...
