My odometer screen is blank this morning. It seems to be the same thing described in the post I linked below. This sounds stupid but I didn't notice until about a mile from my house (I was screwing around connecting my newer phone) so I can't say if it turned on at first and later cut out.

https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/lost-my-speedometer-screen.14158/

I pulled over to try turning the truck off and opening the door, but no luck. I pulled out my ODBII dongle and set my phone to show me speed and I continued my commute. It stayed the same the rest of the drive.

I'm hopeful that it just fixes itself like in the post above, but am leery about intermittent issues. Has anyone experienced the same thing and found a definite fix?

Thanks

As luck would have it it's back online. Parked it at work and was restored when I left at the end of the day. Hope not to see it again for at least another 24k miles.

If this happens again in the future, it's worth doing a 12V reset (loosen and remove the negative 12V battery cable and wait at least one minute and reconnect. That usually solves 99% of these oddball software issues.

Thanks --After doing some more reading I feel better knowing that people have had success getting it back online by futzing with the 12v battery and fuse 13 in some cases. I feel like there's some someting to try rather than wait with crossed fingers.

I know it is the other screen, but I had this happen today when I told Siri to call my dad:

It came back up after I ended the call, but that was quite weird. Never had that happen before!

I'm not sure I know the right place to look it up. In the Software Updates menu it says DDM-25.12.0 for driver door module update. Didn't see a date.
That likely was the cause as that is a fairly recent update! You can check when that update was installed on your Ford account online under your vehicles and under support and under software updates

2001 FORD RANGER, 2023 F-150 LIGHTNING
I had a glitch last night after picking up groceries - I had opened the frunk for the grocery clerk to load them in and it stayed open for maybe 15 minutes, truck on, then closed and drove home. When I got home and parked, pressed the dash button for the Frunk, but no opening and an error message about a failure and take it in for service - yes I had the frunk software update installed last month. So I turned the truck back on and pushed the button again and this time it opened.

Maybe be a sign the 12v battery was weak - I hadn't charged the truck for a couple weeks, drove but didn't need to plug the truck into the FCSP to charge the HV battery which seems to be when the 12v battery gets charged more fully.

Charged up the HV battery overnight plus a few hours plugged in after it finished which will probably keep the 12v battery going and the frunk operational for a week or two.

Yes I had the 12v updates and BCM replacement already. I might have to go with a dash mounted solar trickle charger connected to the jump pins in the future. I used to do that with my 2001 Ranger but with the Ranger I could use the accessory (cigarette light) plug which is not an option with the Lightning if I understand the way it operates, and the admonition in the manual not to use it to input energy only to draw energy.

Thanks for looking, exactly what I was suspecting: This thread contains experience reports from members when that particular update installed recently, PU-DDM-24.11.5 & 25.12.0 Smoother Window Closing. We have many threads titled according to the nature of a variety of OTA's, as you received them check in and report any positive or negative observations that you 'suspect' might be related

BTW, this link Software Update History will take you to Ford.com, if you log in it'll take you to the recent 90 days of updates installed on your truck.

Oh neat! Im kinda new here and this is more information than I expected. Thanks for the links and the info.

It looks like I got my DDM-25.12.0 on 4/19 and a priority battery management update ECG-25.2.5.7.1 only a few days prior on 4/15.
