Started the truck before swapping back the original shifter and got the "shift fault" pictured above. (and no others). After putting the original shifter back, the shift fault error went away.

WTH. Why would the rotary shifter work for months and then all of a sudden have a problem?

And should I expect to see the Powertrain and Electrical issues every time I start the truck now? It showed when I started last night, then again when I started it to leave the restaurant last night.

Haven't seen either today, and nothing new in Ford App messages.
Confused as to what you are asking, specifically. Are you asking should you expect the issued regardless of shifter installed or if you swap back to rotary? Contextually I think you are asking if you'll continue to have problems after switching to rotary. If so, you may have just got a bad switch.

I was asking if the Powertrain and Electrical messages are/were persistent. So, if you see them once on the dash, do you continue to see them until the codes are reset?

In regard to the shifter, it's strange to me that it would work fine for 2+ months. Not a single issue, dash message, or anything.

Then last night I get these three messages all together, out of the blue.

I'm going to eat my lunch and then go see if the ODB reader shows anything.

It would depend on the issue and if the issue is persistent, from my limited understanding it constantly self checks, in certain scenarios when a fault occurs it logs it pending or if serious enough throws the check engine light. It continues to recheck in the meanwhile, after a number of passes (depending on the nature of the error) with successful testing it should clear the light but store the code.

Check the rotary switch harness for signs of a bad connection, charring, bends, scoring, etc. I assume it was pretty much plug and play, plastic trim, switch plugs into same harness, no other mods or hacks?
Ol dirty bastard

No marks or anything, totally plug-n-play, just unplug the harness from the original and plug it into the new one. It's got a locking latch that holds it in. That was in place and needed to be "unlocked" to remove.

No modifications made to the shifter at all.

Just plugged in the ODB reader and all it says is "The vehicle has no fault codes."

It's an older reader, so not sure how useful it is.

Will just let the dealer look into it tomorrow and see what they see.

Pretty unlikely, but maybe just a faulty switch, I'd put the rotary back in and see if it comes back, pull the code if so, that way you know what to tell them tomorrow. If it doesn't, maybe the connector wasn't fully seated.

Could you try doing a DCFC session?

I'm curious if the thermal management system is ailing and not telling you more directly that there is a problem with the diverter valve or the PTC (used in 24+ Lightning to boost heat the HVB) when needed.

Right now, I can't. Dropped the truck off at the dealer. Hoping they have something productive to tell me.

In the 6 months I've owned the truck I haven't charged anywhere but home. I should probably go DCFC somewhere as a practice run.

Being able to charge to 100% is a good sign that the battery is just fine. Low miles from the GOM is not a concern. Could just be from recent freeway driving/cold temps.

Got my truck back from the dealership this afternoon. Service tech told me they "recalibrated some modules" and everything should be good.

Here's a picture of the service sheet, maybe someone with more info/knowledge can translate it.

The software updates to the SOBDMC & BECM must of did the trick!!

BTW, glad it didn't involve the thermal management system(s)

Yeah, fingers crossed this resolves the issue. I'm going to wait a while before I decide whether to swap the rotary shifter back in. Worse case I just keep it in case I get the dreaded GSM issue.

Got in the truck tonight to go get dinner with the family. Started it and went to back out of the garage when a number of errors popped up on the dash.

1. Service vehicle soon
2. Shift system fault Service required
3. One about powertrain and/or battery drain; disappeared before I could get a picture.

Never had a problem before now. Standard motorized shifter was swapped out for a rotary shifter a couple months ago (never had issues with the original shifter).

Never seen any other errors to this point.

Truck ran fine/normally on the trip to dinner and back except for showing the errors again when I started it up.

So, what's next? Do I bother removing the 12-Volt cable? Can I get anything helpful with just a regular ODB reader? Or do I have to just schedule an appointment with the dealer to figure out what's going on?

Get a trickle charger with an AGM mode and keep the 12v battery topped off.
When it gets low, errors start popping up as it sheds loads, that has been some people's experience anyway.

It’s the rotary shifter. You removed it and it works fine. The updates are only because you took to dealer and the work shop Manuel said do blah blah over the errors that the rotary put in truck. Swap it back for fun. You will get errors again
