There is, sort of, sometimes.

If you have a truck with the Max Tow package and you are not towing, there is a way to precondition the battery when it is hot out.

The Max Tow package has a second complete cooling loop. If the weather is hot and you are not towing, you can manually cool the system down by putting the truck into Tow mode.

Outside of that, you are right Rick.

I consider preconditioning RAISING a cold battery's temperature. I have never been in a situation where I needed to COOL the battery, at least yet. Then again, all my Lightning trips have been in the winter, we take the Mach-E otherwise.
