So how do we know when we will be asked to place an order. Hwo do we know if it will be this year or next, if not 2024?

The short answer is we don’t know. If you didn’t get a wave invite for 2022 then you are looking at 2023 depending on your reservation time stamp, if you are in a ZEV state, your dealers allocation and if that dealer includes you as a priority order.

So far about 35% of the reservations have come from ZEV states but about 50% of the builds have gone to ZEV states. In 2022 most dealers could have prioritized more customers than they were getting allocation.

Assuming that Ford builds about 80,000 Lightnings in 2023 they will have only met about half of the 200,000 reservations they have.

Interesting. I ordered and received my reservation on May20,2021.
I do not know my dealer since I boughta MachE from another Ford dealer.
Will a change to another dealer better my chances?

You could start by inquiring with your dealer and other dealers regarding their allocation and where you stand in their line.
Example, my dealer only got one 2022 allocation out of 16 reservations. If you are in a ZEV state that will likely improve your chances.
You mention a 5/20 reservation. There are many reservation holders on this forum with 5/19 reservations who didn’t get a 2022 order.

I added to the list in September but cannot get the scroll to go past about #360 to search for mine.

No word from Ford since a March e-mail saying no 2022 allocation. I’m off to see the Commercial guy on Tuesday 1 June.
