I have a -U on order that I should be able to install the 2nd week of August. Fingers crossed that it works at all, I will let you know whether it is motorized or not.

I’m compiling a verified list of Ford rotary shifter part numbers.

The current working theory is that part numbers starting with LX6P or LX6Z typically refer to motorized rotary shifters. These are commonly used in 2020–2022 Escape, Bronco Sport, and others.


I’m hoping to collect real-world confirmations so we can build a reliable cross-reference list for retrofits and replacements.


If you’ve used one of these parts, please reply with the following:

1. Part number (example: LX6P-7P155-EH)
2. What vehicle it came from (year and model)
3. Whether it is confirmed to be motorized (yes/no)
4. Any other notes (source, behavior, fitment issues, etc.)

Motorized Rotary Shifters

These rotary shifters have a built-in motor that automatically rotates the knob into "Park" when the vehicle powers off.

Interesting, that is the first one that breaks the pattern that was building. Also disappointing since I was looking forward to it. Did you buy it new?

Yes sir from a ford dealer in south Texas. Installed yesterday. When I open the door the indication change but did not move. I will check again tomorrow

that’s a bummer! I just installed the same one this afternoon and confirming mine is motorized. Maybe the wrong model was shipped?

I did however get an electrical fault upon install. Luckily a battery reset was able to clear the fault.

This is the error that popped up. Gave me a quick scare but everything seems to be operating normal. I was swapping the shifter while the truck was on so my fault there.

I see alot of them on eBay ship from China and am wondering if there are some counterfeits out there and maybe OP saying it isn't motorized is just mistaken since he said the indicator did change.

He said he got it from a dealership. Mine is supposed to be here soon, so ill add my experience with it when I can.

That could be possible. Bought mine from eBay and it for sure came from China based on outer packaging.

I think everyone thinks you meant you bought the shifter new at a dealer, not the car. I think that settles that confusion.

Does the dial move freely around in a 360?

Serves as the neutral hold button.

I received my LX6Z-7P155-U today and it was just another PZ1P-7P155-AC (Same Seller). So I am thinking the LX6Z's are non motorized and the LX6P's are the motorized ones. The seller says both part numbers have the same function.
