Curios to see if this is another motorized variant. I have a non motorized on the way only because I wasn’t able to find any of the previously mentioned motorized part numbers in stock.

same here. Minus any rotary shifter atm. Just waiting for some of these to pop.Curios to see if this is another motorized variant. I have a non motorized on the way only because I wasn’t able to find any of the previously mentioned motorized part numbers in stock.
You would need to pull codes with forscan or FDRS to see what is throwing the fault.Hey all. The original stick shifter has been throwing error codes for months, even once stranded me by sticking in D and not returning to P for hours (then spontaneously moved itself back for no reason).
I just installed the ManionMakes shifter box with an eBay rotary shifter (part OEM JX6P-7P155), quick and easy job. Everything seems to function perfectly (it even rotates itself back to P when I open the driver's door while in D, not electronically, actually moves the dial with a motor). However, when I shut the truck down, it now throws an error on the dash:
Shift system fault
Confirm park brake
Apply park brake before exiting the vehicle
Any ideas about how to fix this?

I ran Forscan. No DTCs related to GSM (like there were with the stick). I ran all the tests related to the GSM section- nothing out of spec. No errors related to parking brake that I could find. Where in Forscan would I hunt down the source of that dash warning? You would need to pull codes with forscan or FDRS to see what is throwing the fault.
Did you have any other DTCs stored? I'd almost think the IPC would have something based on the message. Depending on where the GSM is at on the CAN network, it may not even be a DTC related to the GSM specifically.I ran Forscan. No DTCs related to GSM (like there were with the stick). If you do have any DTCs and are up for it, you can send me what is stored in a DM and I can look through it in the morning.I ran Forscan. No DTCs related to GSM (like there were with the stick). It sounds like some of them have different internals or configurations if there have been other reports.I just figured that any OEM Ford rotary shifter with the same dimensions and 7P155 in the part number would work. And for the most part, this particular version (JX6P7P155) does function perfectly. According to the interwebs, this part fits "Focus MK4 (2018–2023), Escape (2019+), and Fusion/Mondeo with an electric shifter.
In fact, the wrench light on the dash, which was on pretty much all the time with the Stick in there, is now off, so that's a win. And the Warning that flashes only after I shut the truck off does not throw a DTC or the wrench light. I will try to dig deeper in Forscan to see what exactly the code might be, but for the time being I'm happy with the result. If I can't figure it out, then a new rotary shifter must be the answer.
Thanks to everyone who has weighed in. If you have more ideas, I'm all ears.
I've tested with fdrs with no errors. I did so recently due to unrelated CAN errors.OK, ran Forscan GSM diagnostic tests on this rotary shifter (JX6P7P155), which returned the following error codes:
Code: P166B - Drivers Door Status Correlation
Code: P07EC - Transmission Range Multi-Function Select Circuit
I am not getting any errors related to door status, though I don't know if that might be contributing. The P07EC must be the problem, and I suspect it is hardwired into this particular shifter, probably no way to prevent the Dash Warning with this shifter. Any other ideas? Has anyone run these tests on other rotary shifters, curious to see if well-behaved rotary shifter are throwing diagnostic errors.
That is... sketchy.I just received my LX6Z-7P155-U from eBay. What is troubling to me is that I do not see FoMoCo stamped on the part, or the actual part number for that matter. It looks like they have been scratched out.
I am going to attach the eBay listing I purchased from along with an image of the part. Maybe someone can confirm they purchased from the same seller and installed without any issues. I am hesitant to even install it.
I am in the same boat as UncleTony. I feel like I want a motorized dial with an illuminated base/ring. However, I am having some trouble locating that.![]()
