You'd still need forscan. Who knows when ford will actually update the APIM with the toggle (see BC and WAL).
Dang. Well sound annoying with the auto shutoff and watt requirement. Honestly not hard to just leave truck on and disable 30 minute timer. Then I know it’s never turning off.

Great. Make sure you know about the minimum load requirement to keep it on. See this post. What version of Sync do you have - 24127 or 25094? (Settings--General--About Sync)
Thanks, I saw the load requirement - another silly decision by Ford. Means I can't rely on using PPOB this way for my mini fridge.

I've got Sync 25094.

You're right! PPOB with the truck off is working for me now. 2022 Lariat ER.

Just got this update (PT-25.13.12) last night. Already had applied the Forscan mod a while ago - and before last night's update, in the Pro Power app the "Keep On When Vehicle Off" setting used to toggle off right after trying to enable it. Now it stays put.

It's an improvement to be able to use PPOB this way, but the implementation is a bit silly. Next time I turn the truck on it toggles this setting back to off. I'd rather it stays enabled until I choose to disable it.

With the way they implemented it I have to remember to go into the Pro Power app and turn on the toggle if I think I might plan to use PPOB while the truck is off.
Oh man, thought it was just me. I enabled it in Forscan this afternoon and have been trying to figure out why the toggle keeps turning back off on its own!

I wondered why my Lightning was charged to 100% this morning. The 25.13.12 update installed overnight and had deleted my saved Charging Locations… @Ford Motor Company
I was wondering the opposite. I received this last night and because we're pulling the trailer a ways today had told the truck to charge to 100%. When I woke up it had stopped charging and was only at 97%.

I'll be charging at a Supercharger today and will test the locking feature. Hopefully I won't get locked to the Supercharger!

The J1772 standard doesn’t include the ability to lock the cable to the vehicle. Only the CCS standard has that.
While that's true there are some older Semaconnect chargers that included locking on their J-1772s. Back in 2021 I had to tear off the beauty panels on my Mach E to access the emergency release to unlock the car from that L2 charger.

got this also and my truck does not have blue cruise hardware.
Hence the asterisk, I suspect even on vehicles without the control capability it still collects GPS, steering, speed and video* data to fill in gaps to teach bluecruise.

perhaps this is why I only drive it to town to get mail and dump recycling. I prefer my cybertruck with FSD 14.2.2.4. it can take me from point arena to San Francisco without touching the wheel even park itself at charging station, Costco, Safeway, home depot, or on the street. it now ask me where I would like it to park. also can use GROK to navigate, add stops, and change route. the software in Tesla is beyond any other vehicle.

will give my lightning to my daughter when her and her boyfriend move back to USA from England. I live off-grid and have to manually unplug truck to keep it from charging when it wants to never follows the schedule like my Tesla's.

also my cybertruck and model S plaid get free supercharging for life.

has anyone else had this update fail multiple times? It's telling me the reason for the failure is that the battery is low. Per car scanner, my 12v battery was at 86% (and the HVB at 80%) when it failed twice this morning - one scheduled, one manually requested). The two other updates this week installed first time as usual. Any one else seen this?

And still no preconditioning on the way to a fast charger...

I got the IPMA update on Weds after driving. Today I got in to pickup pizza and it said that the Charge Port update had failed, and then offered the Sirius update (who cares), which succeeded.

I will start it tomorrow to see if I get the charge port update offered again.

The charge port failures reminded me of a few years ago before we got the BMS sensor. Lots of failures due to low battery. I think at some point Ford also turned on the DC-DC converter to help out the 12v during the inhibit updates. But this one updates the PCM which controls the DC-DC so that's my theory as to why many will see this one fail. The DC-DC is not enabled.

I had to get to 87% 12V SOC.

I drove hours on Weds, and level 2 charged for 11.5 hours... The 12v should have been fine. I suspect the IPMA update used that and drew it down.

Good news: the locking worked just fine. We Supercharged this afternoon and my wife walked the dog with both of our phones well out of range. Neither button on the adapter would do anything. When I pushed the button in the middle of the charger indicator rings, the bars turned off, white, then back to flashing blue. I tried it twice and nothing unlocked.

After we finished charging and the truck was unlocked I pressed the button and charging stopped just like it should have.
