There's a FDRS routine to update the TRON encryption after you've installed something that uses it. It apparently re-writes the keys.I've seen it referenced on the ICE forum, but I don't know if anyone has experience yet here. I would think the Lightning is following what they are doing there.
That is slick. I printed the first one (crudely) but I also wanted one where I didn't have to cut the tabs off, so I haven't really done anything with the first one I printed. Your version looks SO much better than what my machine printed. Did you post your build on Thingiverse?Just installed my version today and it worked great. @jmyer72 thanks for the initial idea and the link to the shifter on ebay.
@asianman35 huge thanks for printing this out for me after I was unable to print this on my own printer. He printed and shipped this thing in no time.
@ENDianDigital thanks for posting the original file on Thingiverse. I modified it to fit my Nalgene and it worked out perfectly.
I'm happy to share my version if anyone wants it.
Very happy with how it turned out!

What paint did you use? I'm debating what to use for mine. TIA!Yep! See post #288 on this thread.
The one I received from @asianman35 had a pretty good finish as-is, but I sanded it and put several coats of primer and paint on it. That hid the remaining layer lines.
I should have said in my original post that I did have to cut the tip of the tab off on the “front” of the rotary knob.
This is what I had on hand and it turned out great. I didn’t use any clear coat because I was afraid it would be too shiny compared to the OEM plastic but in hindsight a layer of clear coat would have probably matched a bit closer. What paint did you use? I'm debating what to use for mine. TIA!
I've downloaded it, but it looks very small. What was the units supposed to be, mm? I've tried importing it into Cura, Fusion, and the Luban slicer for my Snapmaker and all of them look too small.Yep! See post #288 on this thread.

You’ve got to switch the units to inches. Any slicer you use should have that option.I've downloaded it, but it looks very small. What was the units supposed to be, mm? I've tried importing it into Cura, Fusion, and the Luban slicer for my Snapmaker and all of them look too small.
