I received the same email from Ford this morning. My adapter reservation number was about #1200 and I received it in June.

So can I continue to use my Ford supplied adapter until the replacement arrives, of should I discontinue its use?
According to the letter "....Ford does not recommend using the adapter initially supplied to you with any vehicle from this time on...."

Yes...but when the first adapters were ordered, tracked, etc. there were TWO emails concerning the statuses etc. of the TWO different adapters.

So far today I've gotten only one email telling me that "Ford will supply a replacement adapter in the coming weeks and provide return instructions to send back your existing adapter – both at no cost."

So the question still stands....which adapter do they want back? Hopefully they will identify it in some way before the need arises for return shipping.

What were the order numbers for each of your original adapters?
Were they received at the same or similar time frame?

Got the letter too, but the only adapter I have is the one they sent me for my Mach-E that I traded for my Lightning. I kept it for use with my Lightning. I haven't received the adapter for my Lightning yet.
So either: (A) My first Lightning adapter has been shipped and is on its way, or (B) This letter is for my Mach-E adapter 🤷‍♂️
Same here.

FYI also, on another Tesla DC adapter thread a picture some member posted has two of them, and one is slightly longer than the other (or one is slightly shorter than the other haha). I wonder if this is the "old vs. new, improved" adapter.

Yeah, I got the email. I was order #1335 I think. Other than using it a few times on a long road trip it has just sat under the back seat. Sure was great having it on the road though.

So does anyone know what the actual issue is and what modifications are made to the updated adapter to resolve the problems?

I mean I have to use mine this weekend, what should I watch for? It getting hot? Slow charge speed?

Has anyone actually damaged their charge port by using the Ford adapter?

I used my Tesla Supercharger adapter on my former Mach E and on my Lightning multiple times. It's easy and no problems to use, other than being careful with the super-short Tesla Supercharger cable.

You'll get a better price in my experience by using the Tesla app to pay rather that just plugging in, which defaults to the no-discount Ford Plug & Charge pay system. Might be worth it on a longer trip, not so much on occasional Tesla Super use..

I have not received the email, yet. I was early in the morning of the day reservations opened, Order FAE90000308.

My adapter has the following part number and serial number.
(P) 1434343-00-D
(S) GF22408100000TX

Googling, it looks like the part number is the same for Rivian and GM. SO maybe they know by serial number?
