2022 Lightning (Ordered 6/19, delivered 10/28/22)
So I just got an interesting phone call from my dealer in Albany NY area.

The salesperson(not the sales manager) calls and asks if I would be interested in a 2022 Lightning. (I about fall out of my chair).

Salesperson says she was called/contacted by Ford asking them(dealer) to call reservation holders who have not been invited to order, asking them if they would be interested in a "specific" allocation. The salesperson explained the dealer had been allocated an additional 8 2022 Lightning Trucks..all Lariat trim..6 of them with Extended battery, 2 with std range battery. She said she has to get back to Ford by the end of this week or all remaining reservation holders would be rolled over to 2023 model year.

Of course after I got her to confirm they would sell at MSRP I told her I was very, very interested in an Extended range. She said she would tell Ford and they would send me an email inviting me to convert my reservation to an order...choosing my color and options online.

It *sounds* like this is NOT an abandoned order since they were instructed by Ford to call reservation holders at dealer in order AND I can still configure options/color. Maybe they have a few unconverted reservations in certain trims/battery sizes? Maybe a cleanup wave of sorts to finish out 2022?

I'm anxiously awaiting an email from Ford.

Just FYI if you have a call from your dealer DON'T ignore it....

Woohoo - go you! I wish you the best of luck. I might be a bit salty if you get a build date earlier than me though!

1. At this point I'm cautiously optimistic until I see the email from Ford and get the order in online. I've already been burned once.
2. I seriously doubt I'll be scheduled ahead of anyone with a confirmed order already. I don't think I'll see it produced until the very end of the production run(Sept-Oct maybe?)
3. I confirmed NO markup//MSRP with the salesperson and she said Ford instructed them to get names for invites. She said I would be ordering "from Ford" using the same process as the past allocations.*
4. This would not be considered dealer stock since it is NOT an abandoned order...

* Yes I know that I technically buying from the dealer, but they seem to be following the rules set by Ford. They did tell me that it is their dealer policy to process factory orders at MSRP..no markup.*

I am telling everyone not to brag--just everyone be on the lookout for a dealer call...looks like end of MY cleanup.

I have been hearing the same chatter on FB: Lariat only available.

A FB person did get this final cleanup wave and ordered a Lariat SR - guessing Sept / Oct delivery.

Guess this is the last MY22 wave for leftover allocations from the factory which still has these available to build.

If I had a reservation, I'd get one just to get the $7500 tax credit...

I get it, but that is exactly what dealer stock is, NOT an abandoned order but something the dealer configures to have on the floor.

IMO this would be great news for Future Reservation holders and current people waiting to take delivery.

I’d like to see how this plays out c, Kenya posted. This sounds better than refreshing the online tracker all day

Under any other circumstance I'd wait until 2023..but given the high demand and tax credit situation.. better to pull the trigger if given opportunity. Also the real possibility MSRP will creep next year...

Yes It seem these are additional(leftover) allocations and NOT abandoned orders. (Specific trim only--Lariat)

I would classify dealer stock as something the dealer could sell to anyone of the street at any price they wish. It seems Ford is at least directing them to gauge interest among current reservation holders and they would get an invite from Ford to order in some sort of loose priority based on reservation date

I was contacted by my dealer as well. As has been stated, this is is not dealer stock, this is Ford allocating additional units for customer specific orders, just the same as in the other waves of orders. It sounds like since only Lariat trim is available, Ford probably didn't want to send a bunch of invites to reservation holders that were not interested in that trim.

Its actually comforting to know I am NOT the only one. Andrew, please let use know when you get the email from Ford and I will do the same.

I can imagine they will send them all out in a batch..probably later this week (Similar to the other wave invites).

Unless someone on the forum wants to buy the truck from me, I don't think I am going to proceed as I'm not interested in a lariat for a number of reasons on top of the price.

Good luck I hope the Wave 7 order opportunity happens for you.

I was working on ZEV state statistics earlier today and it appears that NY and NJ are the best states to have placed a Lightning reservation from.
- Both states have reservation percentages below the population percentages.
- Both have a very high percentage of wave orders in the tracker compared to reservations.

Guess I must have failed statistics in college - I don't remember much...

I am not seeing where NY/NJ are better for reservations.

Numbers don't make sense to me - sorry.

I see CA, NY and OR being the highest # of reservations...

They are talking about the % of orders vs. the % of reservations. CA had 15% of reservations and 22% of orders (so they got about about a 50% bump in ordering by being a ZEV state).

NY had 3% of the reservations, but 8.5% of the orders, so they got almost at 300% bump by being a ZEV state.

Said another way, if you are CA you got a 50% improvement in your chances to get a 2022, but in NY you got triple the chance.
