People say "extended warranty" because dealerships and retailers use the phrase to make consumers comfortable, but legally, there is no such thing. [1]
What you are actually buying is an Extended Service Contract (ESC) or an insurance policy.

It is no way 'backed' by FORD, and Ford has nothing to do with it.

You should have receive a PDF document regarding your contract!

I did in August of 2022 when I purchased it, the document outlines all details, limitations and exclusions.

I should’ve clarified that I do have the PDF contract, but I can’t see the plan “active” in any online Ford sites or app. This is what Granger wrote in an email:
“

Ford Pass important information: FordPass App had an update with their app and the Ford ESPs are no longer showing with in FordPass. They are aware that they are no longer available in the app. FordPass has decided they are not going to change that any time soon. There is nothing further our dealership can do when it comes to the FordPass App at this time.

Your plan is attached to your VIN, which is how other dealerships will see that you have an active ESP warranty.
Unfortunately, these are also not showing in the customer portal with Ford. To verify your warranty status, I recommend visiting your local Ford dealership. They can run your VIN through the OASIS system, which will show all active and applicable warranties on your vehicle. This is typically the most reliable and up-to-date method of verification.”

That's unfortunate, maybe they (Ford App) changed the way they report this type of event between 2022 when I did it and 2024 when your history starts.

It might not be an "extended warranty" but the plans are 100% backed by Ford.

The headline and the details are talking about Granger Warranty which is the online sales department of Granger Motors. They're selling Ford backed ESPs.
