That's great, but BC 1.3 is now almost a year late. Their EV forecasts haven't hit any of the marks, so I'm not relying on anything they say at this point as bankable.

I'll believe it when I see it, Benz's system is only good for stop & go slow rolling rush hour traffic

The current non-autonomous system which requires driver attention is being investigated due to fatal crashes ... and a fully autonomous system which does not require driver attention is just 2 years away???

I think Jim Farley must have caught the highly contagious Fully Autonomous Driving Soon (i.e., FADS ... pun intended) virus from Elon Musk when they were negotiating the Supercharger deal.

Up to 80mph is your concern??

I read “but only under clear skies” and immediately thought of my solar powered calculator from the 1980s that also only worked under clear skies.

Farley has been hanging out with Elon too much.

Elon just said FSD can go a year without interventions….once all known bugs are fixed.

My wife says the same thing. I’m a pleasant person to be around…once all the known bugs are fixed…and only under clear skies.

Could be Elon & Farley have some deal. Who knows. It is the only hope of Ford having FSD anytime soon.

I was mostly comparing the 40 vs 80, the assisted diving mode we currently have does not work well in torrential rains and blizzards either, I wouldn't expect the higher levels to do it either.

Can we add more highways before Level 3 or the lane changing assist we were supposed to get ages ago?

I set a reminder to check this thread again in 2026.

Or an EV specific lane when using FSD or BC, he’ll even basic Cruise control….aka Far Right Lane.

Tesla FSD and BC leave too much space in between the vehicle in front. FSD still phantom brakes at times.

This can get annoying for those speedsters on the road.

We have a 2020 Tesla with FSD. I can say that over the years it has improved but, its an aid to driving and not a replacement for my 50+ years of driving experience. Just don't see our Trucks getting there as soon as they project, even if Ford adopts Tesla FSD software.

This has got to be the funniest headline of the day. They'll never get it retrofitted and able to distribute to us, if they can achieve that level.

That doesn’t make sense. By that time lots of 2022/23 will be not be paying $800+ a month for this “promise”. It was supposed to be released last year. I also don’t think I will keep this truck that long.
