I’ll be making a decision shortly, but I may be going from two trucks to one. Thanks to Ford’s price increases, my Pro is getting harder and harder to keep as I have hard offers for it between $60-$65k while Lariat ERs are selling for $85-90k.

The $20k difference makes it a much easier jump to get ER/Bluecruise than the original $40k jump.
Hows the Rivian? I presume you’re liking the ford product better?

It’s not bad and a REALLY tough call between the two. For a manufacture’s 1st car, 1st year. It’s a really good product.

I think for me the Ford is generally preferred. Mix that with the opportunity to walk out of this essentially having paid $40-$50k after tax credits for a loaded Lightning is just bananas to pass up.

Also despite the best efforts, I’m just in a different place in life. Grumpy old man vs “adventurous” young soul. Leave me alone, don’t knock on my window. No I don’t want to be a salesman today.

We always knew you were a grumpy old man!

I‘ve seen a few around here (oddly I’ve seen more Rivians than lightnings) and agree it’s a good product, fit and finish is great, fun to drive, easier to park in an urban environment, quiet, and a lot of cool tech. Still Like the lightning better though - warts and all.

It’s been roughly equal around me. I see more Rivians on the road but there are my Lightning around me. Heck within a one mile radius of me there’s at least 3 others. I’ve got my black, there’s a Lariat grey, another Lariat AMB, and a white Pro that got into a nasty crash recently. Somehow driveable but the whole driver side fender is gone.

It’s rare for sure. We currently have 4 lightnings that are all ER. Hell, I’ve never seen a XLT of any type.

I didn’t even know it was available to select. I thought you needed 312A to get the ER. Not even sure how it happened.

Is it for sale as a retail unit somewhere?

Pretty sure I read that fleet orders had the ER battery as a free flow option on Pro and XLT.

Ahh… I did not realize what you were saying. You’re right. That’s why many of us opted for SR Pro’s. You had to do the 312 option for an additional.. what was it .. 8 k?

I thought it was $19,500? I remember by the time you added if, it was basically the price of a Lariat ER.

Yea it’s available as a retail unit, not a fleet unit.

It was $9500 plus the ER adder which is $10,000 on XLT. I think Pro is a $12,000 adder.

Are you going to get it? If not I’d be really interested.

XLT 311A ER would be my preferred trim. I have a XLT 311A SR, solely because this trim wasn't available for order. If this trim becomes more widely available at retail, I would genuinely have disappointment with my order and trim.

People were wondering how Ford might respond to order slowdown, if it happens. They aren't doing Tesla level price cuts, that's for sure. However, this might be the magic bullet they needed.
