When I went to replace mine (with the rotary) I left it connected electrically but it had been unbolted at that point and I was holding it in my hand. I decided that to better prepare it to be put in a box I'd stow it before disconnecting the plug. So I watched as it ratcheted it's way from Park to stow, making a couple of jerky movements in the process. This is a shift lever that I had only ever put in the stow position once before when I first got the truck years ago. So I wouldn't be surprised if it was a pretty common thing. I have read where the ICE trucks have this issue on the other forum as well. But are our 22's & 23's susceptible as the 24's & 25's called out in this CSP?
I wish i would have thought of that !! mine is stored in a box but in the up position. When I went to replace mine (with the rotary) I left it connected electrically but it had been unbolted at that point and I was holding it in my hand. There certainly are (seems more are reported on reddit than here), my 2023 was affected despite not being subject to this CSP and my never having folded the shifter down ever.I am sure there are shifter failures, even outside of the window specified, I just haven't seen evidence they are so out of band in how common it is that I would ever go to the awful rotary shifter. Them dumping that in the 2025 Mach-e was a fantastic move.
The bulletin mentions if you already had the shifter changed under "TSB 25-2276ā Various GSM concerns." then you wouldn't be seeing this CSP for your VIN.My truck was built in this date range but I donāt have the CSP showing. My dealer replaced the GSM back in April so maybe Iām ok?
Right, I said I am sure they happen. Failures happen on all parts on all vehicles in some quantity. I just didn't see evidence that it was so frequent as to start tearing into the truck. There certainly are (seems more are reported on reddit than here), my 2023 was affected despite not being subject to this CSP and my never having folded the shifter down ever.
I'll take the rotary shifter any day of the week, so glad I swapped mine out.
Currently working with the Ford Rav team. Mines been in the shop 50 plus days total because of shifter part shortages. I hope Ford gets the remedies for everyone else. Mines going on 30 days at the shop for this visitMy 2024 had the GSM replaced twice once five months ago and one in June 2025 hopefully, Iām good?
