Got a notice on Ford Pass about this campaign . Is this the gear shift module?
Is this new or the same as the back order thread ?

There hasn’t been a prior CSP for this problem. Looks like they finally decided to get out ahead of the rest of the failures still waiting to happen.

Ford F-150 Lightning CSP-25B09 Replace Floor Console GSM CSP_25B09_Banner

On 2024-2025 F-150 Lightnings produced up to mid-late October 2024, (overlapping production for MY 24 and 25 which is a little odd?).

On all of the affected vehicles, the GSM may experience a malfunction and the floor console GSM shifter may be unable to stow or un-stow when the gear shift stow button is pressed and an illuminated wrench light will be displayed on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). The vehicle may be inoperable if the shifter is in the stowed position when the malfunction occurs. If the shifter is not in the stowed position when the malfunction occurs, the customer will still be able to drive the vehicle and may observe a wrench light on the IPC.

But are our 22's & 23's susceptible as the 24's & 25's called out in this CSP?
When I went to replace mine (with the rotary) I left it connected electrically but it had been unbolted at that point and I was holding it in my hand. I decided that to better prepare it to be put in a box I'd stow it before disconnecting the plug. So I watched as it ratcheted it's way from Park to stow, making a couple of jerky movements in the process. This is a shift lever that I had only ever put in the stow position once before when I first got the truck years ago. So I wouldn't be surprised if it was a pretty common thing. I have read where the ICE trucks have this issue on the other forum as well.

My 2024 Lariat was built on October 29, 2024. I guess I squeaked by!

Interesting that only 2024+ is the target here. I wonder if the supplier of these shifters changed from 2022/2023. Still, the shifter on my 2023 feels really suspect when folding and unfolding. So I bought a rotary shifter from a Ford Escape that I keep in the truck as a backup just in case (lots of posts in this mod).

My truck was built in this date range but I don’t have the CSP showing. My dealer replaced the GSM back in April so maybe I’m ok?

Mine was built November 1st, 2024 and doesn't have the notice, which based on their timeline makes sense.

It also makes sense as I felt this whole issue seemed overblown as I have spent a ton of time on the ICE F-150 forums as I had a 2021 and 2023 F-150 before my Lightning and in that time I did not see many posts about shifter issues, aside from the complaints that it wasn't a very smooth fold down action (definitely agree). Both had the fold down shifter and neither ever had an issue. I didn't expect my 2024 to either, but it seemed suddenly people on here were ultra concerned about it.

I am sure there are shifter failures, even outside of the window specified, I just haven't seen evidence they are so out of band in how common it is that I would ever go to the awful rotary shifter. Them dumping that in the 2025 Mach-e was a fantastic move.

Here's hoping my Lightning shifter is as trouble free as the other F-150 shifters were though. And hopefully those impacted that have this CSP don't have much trouble getting replacements. It may explain the lack of stock for warranty repairs though if Ford had to dump a bunch of stock from that window of time.

There certainly are (seems more are reported on reddit than here), my 2023 was affected despite not being subject to this CSP and my never having folded the shifter down ever.

I'll take the rotary shifter any day of the week, so glad I swapped mine out.

The bulletin mentions if you already had the shifter changed under "TSB 25-2276– Various GSM concerns." then you wouldn't be seeing this CSP for your VIN.

Right, I said I am sure they happen. Failures happen on all parts on all vehicles in some quantity. I just didn't see evidence that it was so frequent as to start tearing into the truck.

I am glad some like the rotary shifter, I can't stand it, and I am pretty easy going with most changes in vehicles. So many better ways to manage gear selection.

I had the rotary dial in my Mavericks, Explorer and EV6. I personally am looking forward to swapping mine out when the mounting piece arrives later this week.

Currently working with the Ford Rav team. Mines been in the shop 50 plus days total because of shifter part shortages. I hope Ford gets the remedies for everyone else. Mines going on 30 days at the shop for this visit
