Well I got this update installed today, but I ran into the issue of the front drive unit deciding to take a break afterwards, and our driveway is still pretty slick with re-re-refrozen snow / snow melt and I could use that front drive unit. I'm going to see in the morning if it's behaving, and if it's still acting up I'll disconnect the 12V.

Last time I ran into this was when in Glacier NP in September after it fetched I believe 6.5.0 (but hadn't actually installed it, I didn't want to try while out on a trip). I could definitely feel the difference of only having power in the rear. After getting out to check out a little observation spot and coming back it was happy again, so I'm hopeful it'll just work in the morning.

Today the front drive unit was happily functioning again, and all seems well.

Great news, these sporadic dysfunctions have happened to many of us, self included, the majority work out well, the rest become enormous threads of angst in the forum.

I had seen a few of the posts back in September, where folks were saying it just went away so that assuaged much of my concern. It would be nice if it was a more well-explained condition and not just "oh hey you have 56% power" but you know what the Stones said in a song...

I have no idea the motivator, new management, new desire to get all trucks caught up on SW, etc, but many different SW releases saw new pushes this past week.

My gut tells me they have a new motivator to get this stuff caught up and leveled. Maybe the new EV announcements made them look back and see the nightmare that has been left for the Lightnings, maybe something new coming (doubtful) that needs all trucks to be caught up, maybe too many dealers complaining that SW is all over the place (doubtful as most don't understand the SW releases anyway), maybe just a new manager that sees the disaster and wants to make it better. Who knows the motivator, but it seems there was one.

All it takes is a diligent analyst to review process logs for anomalies, I suspect that position has been vacant for some time. I lived for crap like this in the last 10 years of my career at IRS.

Or maybe Ford has a different definition of “priority update”

Its to me, ford, @Ford Motor Company, owes us at least a couple of updates just clean up stuff. One is walk away lock. I have the sliders, but not the actual function. The other can be a safety hazard. The fact that ACC, Cruise control looks at highway identification signs, but thinks they are speed limit signs. In traffic on the interstate, you can be moving 70mph and suddenly slow to 45 because it sees a hwy 45 sign. You go from going handsfree, to holy$h1t what's happening.
I am sure there are others, but these come to mind.

This came out in 2/24 and I just got it today. 24 Flash. Seems very late for a “priority update” :)
You got it 5 days before I did (8/22/25). Also a 24 Flash.

So as not to be surprised, did you notice any improvements?

Does this mean 1.4 is soon to come?

I took a 3 hour drive and didn’t notice anything different. Still no 1.4
