2023 Lightning ordering starts in August?

FWIW the Lightning build and price tool on the ford.com website has been down for the past hour or so

It was the invitation to put her order in, Dealer called shortly after. Think she ordered a Lariat.

It had the splash page that 2023 order banks was open.

Do you know when the reservation was placed? The build and price tool brings up MY2022.

the order page was the order page to our local dealership. Had multiple vehicles on it, and she was able to order the lightning. Dealer called back as they were struggling to find her deposit info after she made the order. They called again a little while ago.

This sounds unusual, maybe they are using a dealership pre-order process to accumulate interest and then batch order on day one of FORD official opening?!?!

You are forgetting that 150k reservations doesn't mean 150k orders. I suspect the conversion rate is going to be fairly low, especially if everyone is pushed to Lariats and Platinums again.

Yeah I would think conversion rate won’t be as good with rates increased, possibly price increase and possibly tax credit decrease.

23MY invites will start going out next week. First group will be customers who were offered a 22 but extended because they were waiting for a Pro.

Yeah..that sounds sketchy as hell, tbh.

I'm thinking they are just getting info for when the official ordering starts. Kinda crappy as it gives the user the impression they have/will have an official order from Ford. I sure as hell wouldn't leave a deposit with a dealer with no confirmation, no official notification from Ford itself. Ford is the one who deciding who orders and when..not the dealer.

So while everyone is figuring out when the reservations will be completed let's not forget Ford also has commercial orders to build as well. We don't know how much of the build capacity is going there or how many orders they are taking.

I would not get excited about any of this until screenshots of order pages or emails can be produced. If any orders actually happened today, they're more likely to be related to order cleanup for MY2022.

I think it's a big dose of believing what the dealer wants you to believe vs reality.

I've seen some sketchy dealer websites about that claim they can "order" you an f150 Lightning. Most of the time they just ask for info and then will try to "bait and switch" you into a gas f150.

Again, I wouldn't give them a dime for deposit with a lot more information confirmed by ford HQ...

MurphysLaww post sounds like the wave 7 process. It was Lariat only but closed June 24th. Not sure if someone sent them an email late.
