How to brew the perfect Fruncaccino ☕️ What have you plugged into your Lightning / used the frunk for?

Hey F-150 Lightning owners,

We see a lot of great stories here about how you use Pro Power Onboard. You run tools at job sites, keep your fridge running during a power outage, and power up camping trips. My colleague Paul decided to take things in a slightly more caffeinated direction.

Paul is a fellow (and very enthusiastic) Lightning owner who also works here at Ford. He has built a bit of a local reputation for whipping up fresh espresso straight out of his frunk. It turns out that having a massive mobile power source is the perfect excuse to become a neighborhood barista.

He put together this step-by-step guide to crafting the ultimate "Fruncaccino" and I just had to share it with you all.

This completely raised the bar for my morning coffee routine. I can also attest that I have had one of Paul's electric coffee cups. 10/10.

It also got me wondering about your setups. Aside from the usual gear, what is the most unexpected or creative thing you have plugged into your Lightning? If you have photos of your own frunk setups, drop them in the replies.

I think it's great that people use the power outlets for stuff like this. But, I can say that I've never done it with the Lightning, partly because the trips with it have been in the dead of winter, and partly because I see it was useful for camping. On a charging stop, I'm not going to whip out the coffee maker, a jug of water, a cup, coffee, half and half, etc., then not be able to put it away because it's hot, all for a cup of coffee on the road. But if others want to, go for it.

I have offered to supply power at the neighborhood picnic, instead of them running a bounce house from their house power, but they never have interest. I don't push it any longer because it avoids the "but your truck was discontinued" discussions... I also am not planning on attending any EV events this year for that reason, as well as the declining attendance we've been seeing over the past year.

@Ford Motor Company what a great nothing burger. How about fixing blue cruise, pro power, the home integration system, general dealer support with updates or something else? I think everyone here knows that if you plug something in to a powered electrical outlet it tends to work. Thanks for the good work.

I have not used it as much as I thought I would. I still have an ICE state of mind and just do the A to B. I do have an electric scooter in the backseat and a few times have charged it. It is mighty handy when free charging location is not exactly where I want to spend time.

I definitely do this when camping. Coffee is a must in the morning.

I have taken a $20 electric kettle with me on my last camping trip for hot water for my French press and freeze dried meals rather than my Jetboil camping stove but I have yet to pack in my espresso machine and grinder.

Slightly more modern, but the F-150 Lightning is itself in Forza Horizon 5 - so I bring that setup to Cars and Coffees myself, so you can drive a F-150 Lightning on an Xbox powered by a F-150 Lightning

Thanks for sharing @Ford Motor Company . I am very much looking forward to the “Soon”, when we can run Generator/Camp Mode. I will use the frunk and bed outlets for many, many things, not the least of which will be keeping a low-power cooler/warmer on board at all times to keep all the groceries fresh (or not frozen in winter) on road / camping / shopping / cottage trips. Can’t wait for the enhanced PPOB options coming soon!

"Camp mode" available with Forscan. Silent, disable power down timer.

was at a friends and needed to cut some exotic imported wood (8/4 Bubinga, for fellow woodworkers) to share so showing off a bit I brought my Oregon electric chain saw.

I've also driving to a neighborhood and use the same chain saw to cut down a cherry tree... at 7:00 in the morning. Didn't wake up a soul.

I cooked a pot roast in a Crock Pot in the frunk while driving from Tulsa, OK to Jackson, TN, and it was ready for dinner when we arrived. I also ran the church’s digital grand piano for a Christmas Carol singalong last December when the church lost power. I’ve used the Pro Power onboard lots of time for the more usual stuff, but these were my two favorites.
