That feeling one gets in the passenger seat on their first experience in the lightning when you floor it from a standstill.

My wife turned white as a ghost, lol, and she used to race go karts as a child.

I know exactly what you're saying the Mrs. doesn't enjoy the launch either, I save it for when I'm alone or any of my buddies are riding shotgun with me!

I have to remember to disable Bluetooth on my phone when doing a full throttle launch. Otherwise my phone will notify State Farm that I had an acceleration gig though their Drive "Safe and Save" discount beacon.

..........Whatever you are 'saving', it's not worth it.

Snapshot with Progressive "supposedly" saved me about $100/6 months. Not life changing but not spare change either. Did ding me for hard braking one time when I was trying to see what the truck would do if I covered the eye tracker and didn't always detect I was the passenger correctly.

Saw vid o by an attorney that goes after insurance companies for proper settlements etc. He claimed that they mostly use the data to get out of claims. If it records 26mph in a 25mph zone, they will use that to deny a claim. Says it's just not worth it. But some are worse about it than others. He in particular hates Allstate.

I declined that offer when I did some business with them recently. I'm coming from a custom tuned Coyote to the Lightning, I wanna catch the road runner this time  beep beep my ass.

Replying to my own posting. I’m bored.

Next year I’ll be an official octogenarian. So the State Farm beacon rarely tattles on me in the Lightning. On the other hand, when I'm driving my Tesla it report acceleration events. I'm probably more aggressive in the Tesla because of the way it handles.

I do rarely get gigged for speeding since I keep it no mor that 5 mph over the speed limit.

Here in Canada, the program is called Ajusto. Initially, there was a discount for signing up, but I'm not so sure of it's benefits.

At the time of my last renewal, it's score just happened to be the value where there was no discount (but no surcharge either). A month later, the score was better, which would have provided a discount if it weren't already locked in for the next year. I can't say my driving habits improved in that month.

Some observations:

It only shows you as speeding on a trip where you exceed the speed limit by 15%.

It seems really picky about hard acceleration and braking to the point I find myself doing rolling stops at stop signs to avoid the poorer score. Luckily, I haven't been spotted by a cop doing that, but shouldn't this program encourage better habits? Doing rolling stops is NOT a better habit.

I should add that most of these hard accelerations are in my FFE, not the Lightning. The FFE software limits acceleration when below about 10 km/h (6 mph), so it's nearly impossible to peel out from a stop. It does take off like a bat out of hell once it gets to that speed.

My kids love it when I punch it. The wife not so much. Everytime I get on it the kids say "speed run" from the back seat.

At the bottom of a long, steep hill nearby I check if the coast is clear-- then announce to my passengers-- "Please be sure your barf bags are in their full, upright position," then, hit it... Recently, with a friend sitting in front of the open back center window, I stomped on it, and there was a clatter from his cheater glasses propelled off the top of his head-- off into the truck bed accompanied by a panicked exclamation (!) Too much fun. BUT, I hate to think of the mayhem to follow when the young truck jockeys and coal makers finally ditch their ice trucks and embrace electric...

I'm sure they'll figure it out if that time comes, most of that type of mentality are highly unlikely to change over.
