Ok, I see when I can.
I was able to give a small check today.
Results:
1. The predictive speed assist was toggled to off position. All others were unchanged and turned on.
2. Lane centering seemed to work as it always did. No change.
3. Predictive Speed Assist worked with no changes. It still sees HWY marker signs as speed limit signs and adjusts the speed to match that as opposed to actual speed limit. It readjusts to proper speed limit at next speed limit sign. No change from previous.
4. Blue Cruise seemed to have all functions of 1.4. However I didn't try lane positioning next to wide load vehicles. Automated lane changed worked. I used the turn signal and truck changed lanes. This worked to both left and right. No changes noted.

Still no lane centering while towing (used to function before BC 1.4).

Hello Brian (@Ford Motor Company):
Any answer to this one?
It is hard coded that way as a safety measure. Just like the newer IPMA software requires the driver to have their seatbelt buckled in for lane centering and/or Bluecruise to work. Like it or not, that is what Ford decided was the safer route to take and I highly doubt they will change it back to how it used to be.

Is this official or rumor? It's a real bummer.

Considering GM has hands-free SuperCruise, I'm not real happy with this decision.

Martin Rebuilds on youtube mentioned that he had reverse engineered the process to allow BC while towing but said it felt very twitchy and unsafe.

Yeah, I saw that. I'm not interested in turning on BC while towing. I just want Lane Centering back.

ACC/LC worked just fine and made long towing days much more relaxed.

Well, I don't think Ford ever officially made an annoucement stating this is the case, but I can tell you that it does not work while towing or without wearing the seatbelt and there is no known way to bypass it with a FORScan or any easy method.

I have towed with my Comma and it worked well. I say this because BC likely has similar requirements and issues that Ford determined that the "average user" might have trouble with. We on this forum generally aren't average users however.

From reading about other's experiences towing with the Comma, the weight distribution is a major factor in the steering twitchiness. If you have too much hitch weight (aka poorly adjusted weight distribution hitch) the Comma has a difficult time with the lane centering and gets really twitchy. My thought is that BC or stock lane centering would probably have the same issues. Guessing this is why Ford decided not to allow BC/LCA while towing. The "average user" may not go through the entire process to adjust their WDH properly.

When I towed my travel trailer, I went through the whole process to adjust my WDH that was in their manual and used the Lightning trailer setup screen as well which I believe helped the Comma's good behavior while towing.

Confused - Feature Enhancement - Driver Assist Features

Got this update today. From everything it says in the notes, none of it applies to my Lightning.

I don’t have Bluecruise. I don’t have Assistive Cruise Control.

Curious what I did get. 😃

I received this update last night as well on my 2023 XLT SR. I have ACC and I also have the Speed Sign Recognition turned on. I will try to see if this makes any changes to my truck's habits. There is a stretch of road very close to my house that this curve slowing feature would be very welcome to have. I DO NOT have BlueCruise hardware. I have been considering Comma4 to deal with this exact situation I encounter almost daily. This might be a very useful feature!!!
