Re Range, what I can share is that we have not compromised on it. For example, if the same battery were put in a conventionally designed gas truck it would have 50 miles less range than what this electric truck will have due to the aero and other efficiency measures.
Sounds promising, I know you probably can't comment on this, or if you've seen the truck, but I really hope design appeal was still an important consideration to the team. Sometimes designers get a little weird when it comes to meeting aero and efficiency targets.

The truck is supposed to be able to power the home. Does that mean version 2 of a HIS unit? Hopefully those of us with HIS 01 don't have to wait until 2028 to get a fixed or revised version of HIS that comes out with the new truck... A fix for HIS 01 was rumored to arrive by the end of this year, which is coming up fast, with no especially promising updates or retrofits in sight yet.
With any good luck there will be some industry standards and Ford would align with those vs something custom again. Let some 3rd parties do it.

If this is it, then it appears to have a shorter hood, with a decent sized cab and bed. But hey, one of the many benefits of people not having kids anymore is maybe that leads to smaller 2 door vehicles making a comeback, I can dream lol.

The top pic is the patent, the bottom pic is an AI rendering of what said truck could look like. The angled thing in the bed is a patent for a collapsible tent, so don't worry if you don't like how it looks, it's not a fixed part of the design.

This could be the CE1 truck, or it could be t3. People who've seen t3 have said it has a shorter hood with a larger cab, and looks a bit like a future '97-03 f-150.

I've seen a lot of vehicle patents (as part of my job as a patent examiner) and sometimes the sketches do resemble an actual design, or rather the automaker's design language. It's very rough of course, but sometimes the headlight, grill, or overall shape does have have a resemblance to something that automaker has produced. Ford is one of the automakers that does tend to have a resemblance of actual designs in their patents, but the ones I recall are backward, not forward looking (the drawings look like Ford designs long on the road). But I don't see patent applications until quite a while after they are filed (at least a year).

On the other hand, most of the vehicle sketches in patents are just generic vehicle shapes and designs. Anything visual that relates to the subject matter of the patent will be there, but the rest of the vehicle's design is usually basic, generic, and at the whim of the patent draftsman (who are specialists in drawing patent figures). It may very well be that the automaker shares actual vehicle designs with the draftsman, but if it's not critical to the patent, there's no need to reflect it in the drawings.

Yeah who knows if it's even accurate lol, it's all piecing together patent images and closeups of stuff covered in tarps. But it is fun imo. A few more of those tarp images, can't make out much, but if this is the truck, the roofline appears to be quite low, even lower than a maverick which I'm cool with as a maverick owner. The rounded roof with a raked a-pillar is almost giving mustang vibes.

Then this second image, I really have no clue because you can barely see anything. But it almost looks like you're seeing the truck from a rear 3/4s angle or something, and what you're looking at is the front fender, the wheel under the tarp of course, and then that sharply defined line could be like those wheel flat sections you get in the body side right about the tire.

Again, not much to work with, and I know some people will get annoyed I'm even mentioning it, but I'm just trying to break down the design to the best of my ability.

To understand the Model T, read up
on Vanadium steel, roads of the era, and affordability.
Circa 1911, where I grew up, all local roads were cart paths. Couldn’t drive out of the county. By 1922 the network was nearly 90% of today’s network save a few bridges that wouldn’t show up till the 50’s & 60’s. While heavy timber bridges were built in the 30’s, hundreds of them crossing streams, creeks, rivers. Post WW2, many became steel truss and a few of those hang around but most replaced in the last 20 years.

Gas stations popped up like sunflowers 20’s on and that stayed the norm until the 70’s & 80’s when consolidation of companies changed the number of stations (fewer) and size (bigger). Sadly, most old stations are rotting away and still have underground tanks.

Blacksmith shops became service stations where valve jobs, wheel bearing replacements were very common. As vehicles improved dramatically in the last 50 years, those shops disappeared. Tire shops still survive though.

And the “T”? 15 million+ produced. Crazy. Hard to believe what a decade can do. Fun to live in these times and see a future unfold before our eyes.

Um, ya . . I have No idea what these pictures are supposed to represent, who is the lady in red, what is her significance, and what is the black box below it

These are Ford factory employees who were shown the truck in private. The pic with her in it is the roof of... something. It could be the truck, it's in the same room as the truck they were shown, or it could be another product. But it gives us a rough idea of the shape and height of the roof, which looks pretty low and sleek.

I think the current Lightning will continue until T3 is released in 2028.

We have various sized ICE trucks, this new ~smaller~ BEV won't be cause to stop production of the Lightning.

I know you probably can't comment on this, or if you've seen the truck
I am both humbled and honored that you think that I have seen or can comment on future product.

Here is my take on this subject matter:

This truck will be a mid-sized EV released in 2027 (T1)

Then late 2027 or early 2028 an SUV EV (T2)

And finally in 2028 a full sized F150 EV type truck (T3).

These will all be built on the new Universal EV Platform being built in Louisville initially. That production line will be emulated at the TN plant which is where the T3 will be built.

When the T3 is near to delivery or just after the Lightning will be no more.

There you go it’s all settled. 🤣😂
