Just got back from 2 weeks away. 1 week in Oregon for a wedding, then a week in Florida for a graduation. Would have driven, but timing made it impossible.

Rented cars in both places, EVs were twice the price. 2.5 years since I drove a gas vehicle. Drove twisted roads in Oregon to/from Crater Lake and Bend, missed both vehicles then but especially the Mach-E. Got to be in the former home of Steve Miller which was neat.

Tampa was hot and humid, glad my son and his family are moving next week to 20 miles from us. Drove his Grand Highlander from the airport home, picking him up tomorrow with an EV.

Drove my Lightning a few miles after getting home, brought a smile to my face.

I have to say I feel the same way every time I can’t drive mine!

The feelings are mutual, brother Rick.
The smile returns to my face almost immediately upon starting my EVs.

I have a 96 Ranger XLT 4/5 overdrive wth a 4 banger in it, AND my 23 Lightning XLT, Honestly I love/Like both, each has their own best characteristics...I use the Ranger around town, and the Lightning for longer drives where I can appreciate the comfort.
But, I sure did hate having to pay $115 yesterday to fill up the Ranger . . . Ouch!

I drive my wife's Honda Pilot every once in a while and after using 1PD for so long it shocks me every time how her car keeps going with my foot removed from the pedal! I have to constantly use the brake... which I almost never touch on the lightning.

Same/same, while my Lightning is in for the recall work, I've been driving the wifes ICE vehicle, finding myself anticipating the deceleration that's not there, hoping to get the truck back Friday!

Hard to believe that most of us have adjusted to 1PD. To me is liberating experience, and the best way to extend the life of the brakes past 100000 miles.
Regenaration braking at its best.

Not an unusual problem. Shows the dangers of relying on 1 pedal.

You can argue this. I would actually go the other way and say 1 pedal is a safety feature; our feet are pretty damn far from our brains (compared to other body parts) and the time it takes to move from accelerator to brake can be the difference between stopping safely and a major accident. With 1 pedal, the vehicle is already stopping its movement for us to compensate for that difference.

On topic, yes: ICE vehicles stink in more ways than one 😁

I learned on a car with a clutch after riding a BSA MC with a clutch, and I played drums for a long time, so I have two good and pretty fast feet, faster than having to move one foot from the accelerator to the brake - no I do not ride he brake, but my left foot is always there ready to actuate it at a moment's notice. 🌩

And there have been a couple of reports of the one-pedal run amok and hitting things.

My dealer gave me a brand new 2026 ICE F150 loaner with all of the bells and whistles. I HATED it! The gear shifting... the slight vibration of the engine... after several days, I couldn't wait to slip back into the luxury of my Lightning. I got my lightning back, pulled the shifter into Drive and after travelling several hundred feet... a slow but confident grin encompassed my face. :)

I just put $30 of gas in our 2015 Prius @ $3.959 per gal at COSTCO, no fun, but at least is sips gas, the station was mostly people with big gas guzzlers...when will they learn?
