I have the trailer brake stuff there instead of the coin slot. But I think you should replace it with a button to activate the "Vroom vroom" speaker that you want to use everytime you take off from a stoplight!

PS: also wonder what the long thin slot on the top of the middle console is for.
I have a ball point pen and a ChapStick in that slot.

I just stole my wife's i-phone and it barely fits the thin slot with the case on...live and learn.

I have pen inside the center console on the little shelf - I keep it in a plastic baggie because they always seem to leak over time when things get hot.

Also too thin for my old Zune:

But because the Lightning USB is particular and won't play the Zune directly through the USB, I use an SSD with all my music in a USB interface/case that fits down in the front of the center console where the USB data port is located.

I can see how modern cell phones fit the slot - but everyone seems to use those dash mounts for hands-free operation, don't they?
Holy crap, I thought I was old school by still using a Ipod Classic! You've got me beat, that's for sure! And I'm pretty sure that's the same Nokia model I was issued as a Navy recruiter in 2000.:ROFLMAO:

I put my phone in the slot next to the shifter all the time. I turned off app projection because I choose to only use wired android auto. This lets me access the phone easily if needed. Is the coin holder only on some vehicles? I have both the coin holder and the trailer control thing in that general area.

I also have an iPod Touch x64 from 2012 - has BlueTooth but never got it to work with the Lightning without numerous drop outs and disconnects - there was a Lightning software update that may have fixed the BT issue, but I haven't tried it yet.

I did use it through the earphone jack and an FM RF transmitter (iTrip) to the FM radio on an unused channel fine, but a bit of spaghetti (wires) to clutter things up. Have an old Sirius XM Roady too - connect with the iTrip to FM, but even more spaghetti.

I have the old Zune 30GB and a Zune 120GB, both upgraded a few years ago (2018) with 128GB SSDs and new better batteries, still chugging along.

For music in the truck I formatted a 500GB SSD in exfat and loaded all my mp3's on it and run it through the USB data port - also had a couple USB thumb drives with less music - but it is almost too much to choose from, so sometime I use the shuffle function.

Yes, that's an old old phone - no longer actually connected to anything since ATT changed the tech years ago. Just a prop, so to speak.

I guess I am 'old school' - lots of my stuff is held together with duct tape, lol.

My PC is a gaming PC custom built in 2009 - still works fine, but not able to run Win 11 which makes me po'd since everything is going to require it soon (tax software, etc.).

The iPods are really popular again from what I read - they saved Apple from bankruptcy back in the days before the iPhone (1990s).

I can't see having a $1000 and up phone for music, which will also track me, send me unwanted ads if I walk through a store, listen to my conversations, interrupt my thoughts with phone calls, some spam or fishing calls, and so forth...but my wife couldn't live without one apparently.

To each their own.

I wonder how many toll roads there are where an F150 coin holder filled with quarters would actually be sufficient to pay for it.
What's a coin?
And quarters of what?

But seriously, nothing like throwing a quarter into a toll booth basket and missing and then getting pulled over by the state trooper when you go through without picking it up and trying another free throw...yes, it happened to me once, no ticket but no joy.

My ESR magsafe wallet fits in there nicely with my garage door opener. Phone is mounted to a magsafe wireless charger while driving. Can't wait for the column shifter to be a thing so I can get more storage in the centre console!
