Though frustrating that the updates come out in "WAVES" there are advantages to this methodology, if unintended problems arise, it affects a smaller percentage of the population, the remediation can be started sooner without widespread consequences.

IMHO, they need to manage "COMMUNICATION" of the pendency of updates, ie. tell me "Just In Time" that an update is coming, like 24 to 48 hours advance notice, not 1 to 30+ days .....

Sure the early birds will be chirping about being first on the list, that's all well and good!!

At some point the rest of us will get it when they can give it to us, historically I've been mid-pack on update distributions.

It took dealership 3 days but they finally were able to get the GWM, APIM & TCU updates related to the TSB to update. The service notes indicate they did see one of the DTC failure codes related to the TSB. It appears they updated the sync software as well as I am seeing the new user interface. Typically it took 4-5 days for the connectivity issue to occur so I will give it a week and report back.
Can you give us an update? I'm wondering if I should be scheduling a time to have the dealer apply the fix.

I am happy to report that I am approaching 2 weeks post the updates for the TSB and no issues to report which is about twice the mean time to failure of ~4 days previously. The truck & Ford Pass are operating as expected.

Maybe Ford got your message about Communication Noel. Yesterday evening I got an advance notice message in the FordPass App that I should be soon receiving the latest Ford Power-Up. AND this morning I was happy to find my truck had successfully updated to 4.2.1.

However, 10 days after my call to theFord Over-The-Air (OTA) team, I still have not received the follow-up call I was promised from Management. And after all my waiting, I am totally underwhelmed about the 4.2.1 update, because it did not change anything noticeable to the user interface, its only a "set up for all future updates”. But at least this confirms my truck is getting the OTA updates, so there is that.

Thanks for trying to put a calming, just be patient folks, spin on this. Its frustrating to be treated as a guinea pig and it can cause stress. That’s why I am so thankful about this forum and the help of contributing members.

Update 2: Yesterday (March 20) I did (finally) get a call/voice mail and email message from In-Vehicle Technology Team at Ford. The Specialist, Marie, was very professional and cordial in her messages, and she confirmed “...the 4.2.1 update has been downloaded to your vehicle and shows activation pending on 3/29/2023. I have set a reminder to verify that the update completes on this date.” She closed my case and said I can contact her if I have any questions or concerns.

So apparently, some (all?) updates do not “activate” at the same time they download. This may be contributing to confusion in pour community about OTA updates. Why, it takes 9 days to activate once it downlaods is beyond me; but, I will continue to wait patiently.

Although the response time was not what we would expect in the 21st century, I am satisfied that someone eventually got back to me and confirmed that nothing was wrong with the OTA update of my Lightning.

No, Marie did not get into details about the function of the updates.

However, another update - Another successful Ford Power-up software update today, 4.2.1.2; but, no noticeable change in user interface, yet... so I'm still patiently awaiting "activation" on 3/29.

The update message today promises "More enhancements are in the way" and explains that this 4.2.1.2 "...made some minor updates to keep everything running smoothly, including improvements to FordPass Connect modem."

I sure hope this process works out for all current and future Lighting owners soon!

I just received 4.2.1.2 after getting home today. Ever since 4.2.1 last Saturday my ford pass connection has been rock solid. Hopefully this is all resolved now.

Since I received 4.2.2.1 modem stopped working and fordpass stopped working.
Hmmm. Yeah I’ve had yet another update just yesterday . Zero issues ever since 4.2.1 installed a few weeks ago.

Hmmm. Yeah I’ve had yet another update just yesterday . Zero issues ever since 4.2.1 installed a few weeks ago.
Redid the fuse #32 but now waited 1 min before inserting i back, then 5 min before turning the truck on. Seems to get the modem back on.
