Hey folks,

After a few months of research and chatting with various folks, I made some mods. Thought I’d share the details in case it helps someone, like it did for me.

Front Shocks
Went with the Eibach shocks for the front only. Part #: E60-35-061-01-10

I had the shop set them to the 4th ring (there are 5 total). This almost leveled the truck, it’s slightly less in the front, but impossible to tell. Maybe an inch or two.

Wheels
Method 318 in Gloss Black
18x9 / 6x135 / +18mm / 2650 load / 31lbs

These are very light and I wanted Gloss, and most of the black wheels that Method have are matte, so this narrowed my search to just a couple options. I love how they turned out.

Tires
Got the new Toyo Open Country AT III EV tires
Size 275/70R18 and the SL version, NOT the E. They are much lighter coming in at 43 lbs.

I believe the OEM tire on the platinum with wheels is 79 lbs. My new setup is 74 lbs., so a tad lighter.

Impressions
First, love the look. I had 20” wheels and also liked them, but I’m more of a fan of the 18”. The shocks seem nicer than the pucks, but hard to tell except when you hit a bump it just feels better, less bouncy I guess.

I’m getting around 2.0 on the freeway going 75mph. Here's a pic from today on a drive, but I forgot to take another one when I got there. Probably 90% freeway with little traffic and about 40 miles. Still ended at 2.0. Given the wheel offset, larger tires, and lift, that doesn’t seem too bad. But it’s definitely less than stock, so keep that in mind.

Did your truck come with S load tires or XL load tires from stock?

Damn! Looks amazing brother. Be interested to see what your range does. I have the same color truck and have been agonizing over which wheels to get and trying to decide if I’m gonna level it or not.

Excellent choice in tires. I am very happy with my set in SL as well.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

That I don’t know, I replaced the tires when I first got it 3 years ago and don’t recall. I have a platinum.

I leveled it and put Nittos on with 20 inch wheels from the start which was about three years ago, so I can’t compare today to stock. The leveling will reduce range and so will the offset of the tires as far as I learned. I guess it depends on how often you drive long distances and highway speeds, over 70mph. It will certainly impact efficiency.

With my old set up my range was quite bad on long distance trips. Somewhere around 1.5-1.7 going 75-80. The tires were too wide, the setup was too heavy, etc. I need a new tire so this time around I changed everything and made sure that the set up was much lighter in weight, I went with the EV tire, and have the front end a tad lower. Also, add more air to tires, I’m running them at 43 and max is 44 for these. I should be able to stay around 1.9-2.0 which is a big win over my last setup.

Nice looking ride. I don't think my tires were ever that shiny. Not even when I picked it up new.

Looks great! Thank you for the data. Sounds like you went through what I’m going through right now… bought 22” wheels with 35” tires, put Eibach shocks on the front and set them to the highest position. The wheel offset makes the tires poke out a bit, and the setup is heavy. Getting 1.4-1.5 on the highway at 75mph. Love the way it looks though and I only drive about 40 miles per day, so efficiency isn’t really an issue. But at some point it may be. I’ll likely look at changing the setup similar to what you did in a few years. Thank you for sharing!

Sweet looking mods for your truck. I have the same color and just ordered the same setup but I’m digging the light bar wrap and smoked tail lights. I see you’re in the OC, where did you get those done?

The weight of the SL tires is the best part and helps reduce rotational mass. The driving dynamics is much improved once you reduce the weight of the rims / tires. I noticed right away when going from my stock Pirelli tires around 48 lbs to Toyo at 44 lbs.

I have similar range as you on my 34" Toyo AT III EV SL for my Rivian SUV. I can tell you the Stock Pirelli tires and Toyo tires have very similar range so I didn't see any impact with going with the Toyo tires.

Eh, I can see there are a LOT of folks here that like dark/black vehicle's, I personally like a lil color in my ride (Anti Matter Blue). I have noticed the last couple of years a lot of the vehicle Mfg's are going with the flat color's. Gloss Flat grey(n), I prefer the metallic depth of colors, IMO
With that being said, what attracts you to the all black vehicle? Why does it pop for you, just curious...
Not trying to stir up stuff, just wondering...

Believe me, the last color I wanted on my truck was black. I’ve had several black cars and they are a major pain to keep clean and in Southern California, during summer months they get pretty hot inside. Unfortunately the best deal I was able to get was on my Agate Black Platinum and there were only two Platinum trucks available within a couple hundred miles when I bought mine. So I had to bite the bullet but it’s definitely not my color choice.

But when it's clean and shiny, nothing looks better. My Oxford White is obviously just the opposite in heat and dirty appearance.
