Was your coolant level full? So, the wrench of death(powertrain malfunction) went away for a few days, but came back yesterday/today.
No cabin heat, storm blowing in today. Ugh.
I would definitely fill it up to the top and then watch it every other day and keep filling it up if it has air trapped anywhere. I would also delete your trouble code if you can read it and see if that changes anything see what the new code is if the light comes back on.No, just a little in the tank. I put a little in to the minimum mark.
Didn't fix anything. Made it to work at least.
I am sure of it as I just had the wrench and I cleaned up my battery and all was great, drove all day next day no wrench and then later came on, but next time I started it went away again. Yesterday cam on after leaving my door open accidentally for 2 hours but drove for a while and next start up was gone again.Hey thanks! Do you happen to know if the powertrain malfunction warning is ever related to a 12v battery issue? Or is it generally specific to the HVB? Tks
You may have a bad cabin heater assembly or diverter valve either which can cause problems with heating and cooling the battery as well. Be absolutely sure to mention that the heat is not working, even if it’s warm when you finally bring it in. Also beware that it could start refusing to charge at any time.Hey there, bought a 23 xlt er last April and have loved the truck overall/so far. Have put 27,000 miles on since. Two days ago the orange wrench showed up with powertrain malfunction, service soon. Call local dealer/shop where it was purchased, can't see it until April 6, then probably at least another month for parts(just guessing by reading all threads I could find)
No loaners. I called the 1-800 on ford pass to open up a claim and ask about rental reimbursement. They said yes, but has anyone on here been through this, I'm looking at potentially 3 months without my truck. How fast/slow is the reimbursement process, and now my faith in Ford is out the window.
I live in Montana, everything tech moves slow out here. Also, shop guy I spoke with told me to go ahead and keep driving until he can get me in next month. Noticed this morning that cabin heater does not work. Without the seat heaters It would be too cold inside to drive it. Any info would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Thankfully not the HVB, but they did need to replace the coolant pump. Done in a day, back on the road.I’m not showing any recalls at this time.
I hope your dealer has experience with the Lightning and this. If your truck isn't already at a dealer, you might want to ask here if someone has had good experience with a dealer near your location.Right over the 3,000 mile mark on the vehicle.
In reference to what?Hello @TaxmanHog have you seen/heard info that will help ?
I haven't seen enough posts with enthusiasm for any particular to make a recommendation.Thank you! It's a 2024 Lariat.. If anyone has suggestions for good dealers in the greater Boston area, I'd love to hear them.
