Pro Trailer Hitch Assist via OTA update for MY22?

If you have a 2023 I don’t think you can have smart hitch. I believe it requires the onboard scales and 2023’’s didn’t get that due to chip shortage that year. But it does seem like 2022’s would be possible via software.

Smart Hitch and scales are different than the Hitch Assist, I believe. Pro Trailer Hitch Assist just backs the hitch up to the trailer automatically. It should be available with the tow Technology package and Pro Trailer Backup Assist.

A note to those that are having issues getting this to work.. you can NOT have a 1578 DTC in the IPMA.. you have to have a good calibration in order to have AUTO hitch to work.

If you have the 1578 DTC and are happy with the stitching of the cameras

As long as you have a Trailer brake module.. You can make the as build changes and enable Auto hitch. The issue was some guys were having issues with it erroring out. THey had 1578 DTC in teh IPMA> That has to be gone for the AUto hitch to work.>

Yesterday, I needed to get the Snow Blower out of my trailer where it lives through the non winter months.

Installed the hitch, lined up my truck and tapped the Pro Trailer button to see if it would give me assistance, no luck, only wanted to have me do a calibration drive, (ie. introduce a new trailer profile) since I had previously deleted this trailers profile in previous debugging tests.

I suspect that even when I complete the trailer training routine that it'll not offer to do a hitch assist routine, it'll only do the back-up assist process for parking an already attached trailer.

Maybe there are manual updates I could make with FDRS and the recently acquired programming tool??
