2024 f150 lightning lariat
Hello

I just purchased a used 2024 lariat with 10k miles on it. It’s at 91% charge and only shows 236 miles of range. Is that normal and are there settings I should change to optimize the range. I don’t expect the full 320 but thought it would be much higher then where it is at now. Thanks!

It is if was driven like a bat out of hell.

Reset the mileage tracking and see what you get based on how you drive and the weather conditions and the terrain.

In the end the important number is the miles per KWH. My MY22 Lariat is holding steady at 2.1 over the 16000 mi I’ve put on it in combined highway/city/country road driving.

Do a little research here and you’ll more information than you can ever use to explain question.

My quick rule of thumb is:
Summer = 2.5 kw/mi
Winter = 1.8 kw/mi (temps below 45F)
Towing = 1.0 kw/mi
As another data point: my 3 year old Lariat SR consistently gets 2.4 summer, 2.2 winter (mild winters in Northern CA). Like others said, ignore the range number (guessometer), it's overly conservative (low).

Just like ICE vehicles, the advertised range/mpg is based on certain, ideal conditions. You can get 320 miles if your driving habits (speed, acceleration, etc.) and conditions (weather, etc.) are just right. Drive it like a bat out of hell 80mph on the highway in 0F temps with a headwind and you'll get far less. Putt around town like grandpa in perfect weather and you might get more.

The dash estimate is based on recent driving history, just like the dash estimate on gas vehicles.

All depends on how you’re driving, what speed your driving, how much climate you have on, are you sitting parked a lot, etc. The advertised range is doing city driving, easy on the acceleration on only moderate climate usage. EVs are not ICE, you’ll get better range in the city than on the highway.

Yeah reset it.

I also calculate on my own.

131 x 0.91 =119.21

I average 2.2 so

119.21 x 2.2 =262.262

My readout of the Guess O Meter is usually off from the 262 I'd expect.

my '23 Lariat has similar miles (16k) and I'm getting 2.5MKH but only 10-20% of my driving is on the freeway.

It is actually accurate base on the current trip
I just took 2 300 mile round trips: first trip average 2.4 going home has 13 miles left (3%) and the 2nd trip: average 2.5 going home 27 miles left.
I am happy

Just take those numbers and multiple by your pack size. ER is 131kw so:
Summer = 327mi range
Winter = 235mi
Towing = 131mi
How are you getting 2.5kwhs I’ve never seen that and I have 30,000 miles on my truck it’s more like 2.1 for me in summer

Where do you live and where did the truck live?

I’m in the truck right now and just parked at an appointment. I guess I drive like a grandpa most times 🤷‍♂️

Ford F-150 Lightning Range not close to as advertised IMG_3122

I just realized I wrote kw/mi instead of mi/kwh above but luckily this crowd knew what I meant.

I would add:

Mountains uphill = < 1 KW/mi (for non flat lander trucks)
