Just go into the truck, punched power button and “Front Motor Service” message popped up. Truck was unresponsive. Powered down, got out. Looked around front wheels, nothing apparent. Got back in, punched power and truck started right up. Hmmmmm….thoughts?

Drove home and all seems fine

Call your dealer to set up an appointment and have the service advisor pull up the background codes for more info. If your connectivity is on, the truck automatically uploads background data to the Ford servers they can see online.

This is the first time I've heard of the front motor message, what's the age and mileage on your truck?

Could be a glitch, I've had one similar myself not long ago and nothing ever returned. If the reboot fixes it and it doesn't come back, I'd not worry about.

Looks like there was just a Ford Pass update. Wonder if that confused things.
I was going to ask if you had a recent update before I read this. I and others have had one time glitches similar to what you are describing after an update with no further issues. I say forget about until it pops up again.

I was literally just thinking today that I only hear about battery module issues and nothing about the motors. I guess I jinxed it.

I’m confused. Was the error message in the truck? What would a FP bug have to do with it?

Ok. That was missing from #1. So, maybe. Still FP is still just activating climate control. Brake + power button is what would be starting up the motors to drive, unless soft start is sending a signal to prime the motors… will defer to others who know more about this sequence.

Could be a glitch unrelated to FP. Why would I say that? I have a 4yo Job 1 MME.

If your service manager is good call them and ask to pull codes per others above - saves you wasting a trip/days going into the dealer. Now if your service manager is not good they'll want their $149 diagnostic either from you or Ford and make you bring the truck in to pull the codes they can see live/online.
