Ok thank you for that information. You should flip the breaker to the off position. I'm working with Ford/Siemens with issues I'm having on my FCSP and they asked me to derate the charger from 80 to 60 and had me go back up to 80 and back down again. The procedures they outlined were to turn the breaker off, open the unit, turn the dial, close the unit, then turn the breaker on.
FWIW - with mine, once it's connected it'll reconnect after you turn the breaker off. The problem is with the initial pairing.
Oh that's good to know thank you.Don't be afraid to shut down, though try to avoid doing this immediately after unplugging from the truck, that is when the charge statistics are being transmitted to the mothership, the indicator light will go from blue to white for a couple of minutes., once it returns to blue, then it's safe to shut down.
Not a problem for me I have a shutoff right next to the charger and a load shed Incase I lose power and my generator kicks on. I didn't need the truck to power my house because I have a whole home generator but it can't power my house and charge the truck at 80 amps so I needed to load shed the truck if I lose power.Anyone opening the cabinet of a hard wired 80amp charger must remember how dangerous it can be. ALWAYS use a voltage meter to verify the circuit breaker you turned off has actually killed the charger. Check if it is really dead. There are always multiple 240v breakers, make sure your actually did turn off the correct one.
When I was helping my electrician dad he often repeated to me: "Remember 110volts will shock you, but 220 will kill you".
I cringe every time I read here about folks messing inside an installed charger on a 100 amp breaker. I am sure there is a safety interlock shutoff connected to the cover, but a volt meter is your best life insurance. All switches can fail. And I have caught my mistake of turning off the wrong breaker more than once.
There is not.I am sure there is a safety interlock shutoff connected to the cover
Does the main panel in your house have a safety device preventing it from working if the cover is off?Ford Must Be NUTS
They advertise the Ford Station Pro as " the weather-proof Ford Charge Station Pro". It requires a 100 amp breaker. It must be hardwired in a garage or outside to be used. It will not operate on a GFCI breaker. It has adjustments inside that they provide to be used to adjust the product, and they should expect the customer will do it themselves.
Yet they FAILED to install a simple safety feature on the device to cutoff incoming power if the cover is removed????
This is life threatening voltage and amperage. WAKE UP FORD!!!
I don't know how the software of the unit works. I don't see why you couldn't, but I have seen equipment only check settings like that on startup. The only way to know for sure is for somebody to try it.No it does not. So not considering any safty issues do you know if you can turn the little dial without cutting power to the unit?
