I had a dream last night that I was tooling up 95 and used automatic lane change to shift in between two tightly paced vehicles ......................... then I woke up, still waiting.

Hope it rolls out to everyone soon. Transparency on the cadence Fore is using would probably set most at ease. I have a MY23 purchased in March 2024 and I had basically given up on any OTA updates and my truck is what it is. Like everything they update, it seems like patience is the only way to not go insane and the whole FOMO thing. With that said, I did use it for the first time after the install yesterday for a 200 miles trip and I will say outside the lane change…which is solid, the overall integration how it manages the real world is MUCH better than the previous version. The turns, centering consistency within the lane, and the braking are so much smoother than before. As long as it continues to operate as it did today, I believe Ford has a solid product with BC.

For those of you that have received 1.4, I am curious if it has made any improvements with adaptive cruise control as well. Since "ACC" with lane centering is effectively BC without hands free, I was hoping there might be some improvements there as well.

For example, I think Ford requires too much pressure to detect hand presence. I feel like I am attempting to pull the truck out if its lane, to keep it happy, when it is engaged. I find the experience more tiring than just taking over the steering duties.

It almost seems like they intended ACC+LC to essentially be ACC without LC except the truck fights you the entire time. Fun!

This part is not better IMO. I usually end up turning off lane centering if not in hands free. Have had BC 1.4 since January. I get the "keep hands on wheel" warning seemingly every minute.

I have to side comment that I just hate that people have to use FORSCAN to enable software on their $50-$80K vehicles when OTA should just work (bar has been set high by many other EV brands). As much fun as it would be to tinker, I just can't make myself spend EXTRA money and MY TIME to reinforce bad behavior from Ford.
I'm quite certain that whether or not you use FORScan will have absolutely no impact on Ford's behavior. Of course you should go for it if it feels good to "stick it to the man".

I don’t know why I continue to be surprised at how bad these rollouts are.

That's one point of view. My POV? I'm super grateful that we have alternative means of getting what we want (and getting rid of what we don't want). To each their own.

Yeah, mine updated in 2mins connected to house wifi.
Keep in mind there are two different BC 1.4 OTA's......the one that installs the new software and the one that enables the new features. The one that enables the features is the one that would take two minutes to install.

What paint color? Maybe that matters, 'cause there sure doesn't seem to be anything else that correlates.
Star white. I have a really low vin number. I thought that was a reason why it took so long

My 22 Lariat that I took delivery on June 6 that year updated today from BC 1.0 to 1.4 and the toggles for that and WAL are all in the settings. I think I'm up to date now.

I was not saying you shouldn’t be able to. I was saying you shouldn’t have to pay Ford to buy the software to update a truck yourself that was supposed to be updated through OTA.

I just received my update to BC 1.4 a few days ago, but I have not tried any of the new features yet. Just excited to finally receive it.

Forscan is a 3rd party application that has a free version. You don’t pay Ford.
