My guess is that one of your HVB modules has a cell with substantial voltage deviation, enough that it won't let you drive her even with reduced capacity.
Out of curiosity, have you seen this before? Do any other screens/variations show what appears to be the charging screen? It likely won't help but, if you can even get to it, I'd restart the instrument module, in the event it was a 'frozen' display and the OBC, in the event it's stuck in a loop. Removing the 12v should definitely restart the IPC, I'm just not sure about the OBC. All of this being said, I think either the OBC thinks a charge cable is connected or the relays that open for charging are stuck. Depending on wiring this could be on the OBC or battery module (BECM?).

please see photo
When you get in the truck with this screen showing, press brake and power button, what is the change on the screen (if any)

Edit:
I expect one of 3
1) The disconnect charger screen
2) Stop safely now
3) Service Vehicle Soon

If I plug the charging cable in it tries to start charging...the blue lights go on and it looks normal. than within in ten seconds all the lights at the charge port go red and start blinking...

Worth a shot, try pulling the mechanical release in the frunk too...

Edit: Just for clarity, the charger release located in the frunk 😂

Yes, it could be really bad, on the other hand perhaps the charge port has an internal communication issue... lets hope the dealer finds the answer quick, and its under your warranty.

My truck has been FLAWLESS for 3+ years, all the scenarios I've seen are through individuals posting information in the forum as they occur.

If the particular system(s) are working within safe tolerances the truck should 'start' and be driveable in reduced performance, otherwise major failures have fully disabled the truck at times, a variety of issues have caused this.

I don't see indications on the OP's post that the truck is or thinks it is charging and locking out drive mode.

I'll speculate that I think it might be related to the HVB contactor(s) not closing and failing to take a charge and/or provide energy to the drive system.

The pic OP shared looks exactly like the charging screen on mine, just without the charge rate, which afaik he wouldn't have anyway. Does that screen popup in any other circumstances? I ask because I've never seen it. I did a test when I got home, unplugged my charger from the power outlet, plugged the cable into the truck. The only difference was that it says on my screen charger not detected. It was too dark to attempt to look for the latch to fool the port into thinking something is physically plugged in, but if I wake up early enough before work I'll give it a go.

Agreed. We had a few reports of HVB contactor failures a couple years ago. The symptoms point to that possibility. Pulling codes would tell for sure.

Try accessory mode, do not press the service brake then press the start button once, IIRC this hides the drive status screens, be they trip meters or calm mode screens, only showing the HVB current SOC information.

It is at the dealership. There is a service rep there I really trust. He thinks it is likely part of 10 year 100k warranty. We shall see. Also for Clarity I have owed a number of fords and this lightning is my favorite. I have never had any issues with it until now. I will post when I have more info from the dealer

I believe the standard High Voltage Battery System warranty is 8 years, 100K miles, unless your state enforces a longer one. Even an extended warranty for 10 years does not extend the HV battery system warranty? Maybe Kia has a 10 year warranty on HV systems? The Extend warranty company might offer a longer one?

Yes it might be 8 years vs 10. I still qualify for whatever they will cover under that warranty either way - thanks bill

I had something similar. My truck would start charging and then turn red after 10-15 seconds. I thought it might be my charger, so I hooked up my portable charger and everything charged fine. I have an Emporia wall charger and contacted them. To make a long story short their customer service was great and they determined the problem was with the truck. I was able to change charge rates in real time with their app and as soon as the charge rate was above 35 amps it died. My portable charger is a 32 amp. Dealer determined that the charge controller on the truck was bad. $1500 in parts covered under warranty.

Try charging at a lower rate and see what happens.

thanks this is helpful. Were you getting a message that said "stop safely now" on the console too? My truck won't even fully start, it goes into accessory mode.

Sounds very similar to when I had my HV Contactor issue.
