Interesting, no more standard range battery pack. (TIL) I guess I wasnt ever aware of the skid plate on the '25 Platinums (carries into '26 but different color).

Since there is no new tech, price is going to be the name of the game for Ford to stay #1 in EV trucks. In saying that. The STX with bigger battery and low entry price is going to be the winner. With no EV credits I hope they can maintain or do slightly better than this year. Hopefully Ford can get some of these software bugs sorted out this year. That has been a real drag on reviews and something that I am compelled to bring up when recommending a Ford EV.

Do we have the PDF order guides available yet?
I have them but with Propeitary on them I can get in trouble if I post them. Someone will probably post them soon.

Understandably. Difficult to compete with GM's "standard range"

Did something change with the skid plates? Haven’t been able to watch video yet.
I watched a couple of YT video walkarounds of '25 Platinums last night and I couldn't spot a "skid plate", or specifically, nothing that looked different than the normal front fascia that we're used to.

The videos did not go up close (and low enough) to be fair, but I didnt see anything similar to those that have done the raptor mod. If its there, maybe it has the same lines as our plastic lower liner/trim...and its metal?

Sooo, nothing significantly new for 26' - essentially the same tech as my 22 ER. This platform is 4 years old, and it shows (it's even older if you think about SYNC). GM's got some nice stuff... just sayin'

here is an AI summary from perplexity if you dont have time to watch the video

Here’s a summary of the key points from the video “What's New on the 2026 Ford F150 Lightning”:

  • Ordering and Pricing
    • The order banks for the 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning are now open.
    • Dealers (including Long McArthur Ford) are offering invoice pricing for ordered vehicles, with an extra $1,000 off if you finance through them.
    • Allocations and scheduling are not an issue; vehicles can be ordered and produced promptly.
  • Build and Price Tool
    • Ford.com does not yet have the 2026 F-150 Lightning “build and price” tool live; production must start before it’s available.
    • The dealership’s own build and price will be available on their website soon for easy configuration and pricing, even before Ford’s site updates.
  • Color Changes for 2026
    • Several colors have been discontinued: Iconic Silver, Space White, and Rapid Red Tinted Clear Coat.
    • New or continuing colors include Ruby Red Tinted Clear Coat, Marsh Gray, and Argon Blue (used for the off-road STX trim).
  • Trim Levels
    • There are five trims: Pro, STX (replaces XLT), Flash, Lariat, Platinum.
    • The STX is not officially a new trim but is visually and functionally different, essentially replacing XLT.
    • All trims now come with a standard running board, but style differs by trim.
  • Battery and Charging
    • The 98 kWh standard-range battery is discontinued. All models now have at least a 123 kWh extended-range battery.
    • Lariat and Platinum trims come standard with a 131 kWh battery.
    • Single onboard charging at 48 amps is standard, with dual chargers (80 amps) optional on Pro trim only.
  • Removed and Added Features
    • Evasive Steering Assist has been removed across trims.
    • Ford Connectivity Package is now standard for one year; offers navigation, hotspot, streaming, and more.
    • Fast charging adapter is no longer included with the mobile charging cord; both are now standalone options.
    • Two USB-C chargers have been removed from the frunk area; only power outlets remain.
    • Max Trailer Tow Package no longer has e-locker or hill descent control; now offered as standalone options.
  • STX Trim (Replacing XLT)
    • Features 18" matte black aluminum wheels, off-road running boards, black bumpers, heated steering wheel, cloth seats with Grabber blue stitching, and unique STX graphics.
    • Electronic locking rear axle and hill descent control are now standard.
    • “Phone as a Key” and keypad available as either part of package or standalone options.
    • Vinyl flooring and graphic delete options are available.
  • Other Trims
    • Flash: Black door handles, new tow assist features, factory-installed keypad, similar packages as last year.
    • Lariat: Very few changes except for updated naming on anti-theft package and new package options.
    • Platinum: Skid plate changes from “Vader Black” to “Dark Matter Gray,” bronze interior accents, loss of “Dark Elements” package. Most other features remain unchanged.
  • Charging and Accessories
    • Tesla-style NACS plug adapter is now an option, separate from the mobile power cord package.
  • General
    • The key theme for 2026 is streamlining options, clarifying packages, deleting less popular features, and ensuring high-range batteries across all trims.
    • Invoice pricing offers a potentially better deal for buyers who order with the dealership.

Dang. The enshitification of the Flash trim continues. A $70k vehicle with base model black plastic door handles? Come on Ford.

At least they’re making PAAK an option for the lower trims. That should have been standard from the beginning.
