That's why I sell a sliding dock. Take it off the window, put it in the console. It takes about 45 seconds to boot up when you put it back, but no waiting for it to cool.

Is it confirmed you can't buy a 3X anymore?

From a standpoint of getting installed and running, you are okay. It is the same chipset and runs the same harness. The mount obviously will not work. If you bought the mount from me, I can do a return for you.

From a software standpoint, BluePilot will not run on the C4 until we get the new logic for the smaller UI integrated, which I'm not sure if Comma has even published that code yet.

Comma.ai no longer sells the 3X directly. On their website as of today you can only buy comma 4.

Well okay then. Konik is still selling the A1M if you prefer a full sized device with screen. The A1M has a built in quick mount, so it sounds like either way you don't need your dock. Send me a DM if you want a return.

I actually have a base for inside the house that mounts under a shelf, and you can power it with a USB-C power brick. Send me a DM if you want one. That's how i upload all my routes.

I didn't buy your dock, I 3D printed the older sliding model that mounts with a screw in the mirror. I still think I can use it because the sliding part has a surface that parhaps can be used to attach the comma with a double sided tape. But I'm waiting on someone's review of a comma 4.

The lightning coupler is marked for orientation. Comma goes towards the device and the lightning bolt goes to the truck. The most you should have to do is flip your cable once at either end.

I noticed the markings on the lightning adapter and have it installed the correct way. I did try flipping the usb cable at the adapter and noticed a different error on my comma.
Ive installed default openpilot for troubleshooting with comma support, but the difference is:
with the usb oriented one way, I cant get past dashcam mode and,
with the usb oriented the other way, the comma will get past the dashcam mode briefly, then i get the "CAN Bus disconnected" error.
just waiting to hear back from support for now.

The dev who does all of the UI work on BluePilot is not in a position to buy a Comma 4. If anyone is interested in chipping in to buy him one so he can develop the port of BluePilot, please send me a DM. We have about over half the cost committed already, and we won't actually collect any funds until the purchase is made.

Well this throws a wrench in my plans to buy a comma on sale at black friday. I wont get a comma 4 for up to 3 months, and i cant buy a 3x anymore. Already have the coupler too lol. And my bluecruise trial ends this month! Darn...

Finally got my Comma 4 order in.. I realize we probably don't have an answer to this just yet, but is it likely we're still going to need the coupler on this one too? Just trying to get ahead of it if we do. I would imagine it being the same SoC in general, that it is more likely than not.
