Model age isn’t a huge indicator of quality. I preferred FoF liquid crystal on my lightning. But there may be a new recommendation now.
I see one called Filet of Fish (Release Models), and I see another one called Liquid Crystal (2025 pre world). Are you using both, or something different? Thanks.

Filet of fish is the model and liquid crystal is a “Sub model”

question about the Comma 3x/Lightning, assume you have it hooked up and installed properly, what happens if you don't have the Comma 3X plugged in? Does the Lightning just function the same as if it weren't there? Or does the Comma 3X always have to be plugged in after you've installed it?

It can be removed whenever you want. A lot use a sliding dock @Ajzride makes to make it easy to take down when you’re not driving.

right, I get that but it's ok to drive without the dock? like there won't be any CANBUS errors?
So, you will get canbus errors regardless if you don’t have the lightning coupler to correct the resistance.

If you have the coupler, it will not cause any errors and will work like stock without the comma installed.

Sorry, I have followed this closely before ordering one for my 2022. If you do a Google search you will see Ford has begun encrypting some 2024-25 models and that people are reporting problems with comma AI on newer model Lightnings. ALSO, if you check Comma AI's compatibility list doesn't showF150s after 2023 models.
I can tell you with confidence you're wrong. Like UncleTony said, ICE F150's are now encrypted. No F-150 Lightning of any model year is. Period.

The only thing I'm unsure of is, say the resistance coupler is removed, along with the comma will any errors pop up, say for instance the coupler was put into the slide out portion of the dock. I can't seem to remember definitively what happened before I got my coupler. Anyway, just a thought before you get setup and encounter a problem. I wanna say it's fine either way though.

Uncle Tony answered this earlier. You need the coupler anytime the long usb cable is connected under the dash

Pro-tip, if you wanna block the harness from seeing anything whatsoever, try introducing an apple usb-c cable into the mix :p

Sorry for the newbie question... but to clarify... Did Comma fix the newer C4 kits so there is no damping/terminating resistor needed? Or does it still need. it? I feel like someone said it does, but I can't find where I saw that.

If a resistor connector is still needed, can some send me a link on where to get one?

Is a quick release dock necessary for C4?

The comma itself doesn’t effect the canbus it’s the harness, which is the same on the C3 and C4.

You can get a coupler here:

https://bluepilot.dev/lightning-coupler-order-page/

The quick release isn’t required, but nice to have if you don’t want to leave it on the windshield 24/7.

For the dock:

Does anyone know if we should be using "Use Custom Tuning Profile" or "Enable Advanced Lane Positioning" for our lightnings? I looked everywhere I cannot find a specific answer.

only use those if you have a lateral control
issue. all of that information exists on the F150gen14 forum and GitHub, but neither are easy to find it on. I’ve literally been working on moving it all to the BluePilot website this afternoon. It’s going to take a few days to get it all put together though.
