Google seems to be about 1-2% optimistic for me with ABRP being a few % on the pessimistic side. Haven't used the connected navigation in forever so don't even recall how far off it was. Should be noted that Android Auto will precondition and they're supposedly working to add it to Apple Maps.

Wow, all these negative vibes on the built in nav. Just got my truck in June and haven't gone anywhere nav was needed yet, I stream my tunes so Android Auto popped up and I've been using that, doesn't really matter that it has the nav screen with it but it's good to know it's trustworthy as compared to Ford's nav. Hmm, I wonder who compiles the data for it, if it's who I think it is, I'm not surprised no one likes it lol. Last I heard it was some company in Budapest.

It's not just about how slow and bad it is, but also the horrendous finding of locations by voice/name. The first month I had the truck I gave it a try. I worked to locate a fast charger in the town I was traveling to. I knew the brand of the charger, where it was located by street, everything. I gave the truck something like 20 to 25 tries to find it and it couldn't. Tried the two or three ways on my iPhone and the map found it every time. That isn't useful.

I've been using google maps since inception so I know how well that works. Have Navi extra's in my 13 in an Alpine system and it's not the greatest either, I found out they supply all the domestic oems one way or another, home base in Budapest Hungary lol.

Still have 3 years to mess around with oem, maybe they fixed it with 25 ym lol .

Apple is certainly conservative, which I actually like. It still doesn't have the ability to change charging locations on a long trip, so I just kind of do it manually. Hopefully in the future this will change. I received a notification about some connected services expiring soon and it doesn't seem to matter at all as long as I can get updates.

Not sure about the rest of you but the other annoying thing about the Ford nav for me is that the Tesla superchargers do not show up at all when trying to find a nearby charger. At least I can route in Apple Maps and it’ll include Tesla superchargers.

That is going to change with the next OTA coming this fall/winter.

See my post in the It’s Been Quiet thread.

I have to agree. The Ford navigation is so bad. I would never pay for it. Apple car play works great and if you want a pretty good experience with route planning to include robust charging information including chargers and times built into your trip. ABRP app. (A better route planner). I paid for it, I think there is a free option which has some limited functions.

Siri works 200 times better than the Ford AI that listens to you spout locations you would like to go to.

On another note I like Bluecruise but I would live without it rather than pay a subscription.
Just curious, what makes the Ford Navi system so bad compared to Apple Maps or CarPlay/Google maps? Routing or accuracy?

I really like the fact that my Ford NAV will sometimes start telling me things like my delay due to traffic is X number of minutes…

The only problem is I never put in a route and I usually use CarPlay for NAV if I need it???

I have used it in the past and it worked fine for me for the most part, but I don’t think I would pay for it!

Update...The navigation is still there. Still seems to work the same as before. I guess the only thing I lost is whatever updates it gets, which doesn't seem to be much. Still routes me on unpaved roads even though I have it set not to is one of the main things.

sw engineering manager,
The only thing I ever used mine for was to check for traffic congestion ahead - mostly because its just right there in front of me on the screen.
Noticed it stopped having traffic info the other day - must have expired?
So now I have to use my phone. Not worth $80/year.
