The dealership took the hit and paid for the tax credit out of their pocket. So all good.

Which for some reason @Ford Motor Company has not shed any light on.The 2024 examples were because of dealership incompetence / negligence
The 2025 issues is either FMC incompetence / negligence or DOE disqualification of the Lightnings that FORD has not been up front about.
Since you leased, you got no tax credit. My '25 Flash was built June 2025, leased August 2025, and I got the full tax credit (plus dealer discount and goodies). And the Power Promise installation for $0.00. So I would think you could still get it if you sign the deal by tomorrow.
Actually, I did. And it was line-itemed on my sales invoice.Since you leased, you got no tax credit.
You have a misunderstanding. The tax credit on a lease is taken by the selling manufacturer, not the buyer. They MAY elect to increase the residual price of the vehicle, which then lowers the monthly lease payments.Actually, I did. And it was line-itemed on my sales invoice.
Let me ask some folks about this and come back to you - because I'm not sure myself.@Ford Motor Company in other threads we've asked for an explanation about why certain trims of the Lightning were not covered, IIRC the last was regarding Pro's, there the idea was that commercial buyers had other routes to utilize an EV related credit.
But we're all perplexed as to why consumer trims like FLASH are also not qualifying, any input would be helpful, if it's due to a bureaucratic mix up, then maybe the MoCo could consider a factory incentive to the dealers to close those sales pending over the next 62 hours!!!
After speaking to a few folks on my end, it appears that certain models didn't qualify due to "reasons" - however to ensure that this didn't impact customers it has been covered via an internal credit with dealers. But we're all perplexed as to why consumer trims like FLASH are also not qualifying
Does "REASONS" apply to 2025 Lariats as well? I bought mine mid-June and got the run-around about the IRS portal. Would be nice to know why they couldn't register it with the IRS portal, and if there's any recourse for me to get the $7500.After speaking to a few folks on my end, it appears that certain models didn't qualify due to "reasons" - however to ensure that this didn't impact customers it has been covered via an internal credit with dealers.
Thank you for the update, hopefully this will work well for all pending sales tomorrow!!!After speaking to a few folks on my end, it appears that certain models didn't qualify due to "reasons" - however to ensure that this didn't impact customers it has been covered via an internal credit with dealers.
Select Inventory OfferIf the FMC official account won't give too many specifics I won't either, but I think it is fine to say, if your dealership is unsure what the reason is, have them look up EFC16728 on FMCDealer. It explains the issue and potential resolution to the certain Lightnings tax credit situation.
