Man, the E-Transit really fell off at 81% down YoY. Gotta go scoop one of those up cheap!

Looking at the past 17 weeks sales, I would suspect that production is 525 a week or more for front loading available stock to sell to interested customers.

I don't have many samples of window stickers which have useful data (trucks without factory bed liner) are what I need to see to get a finger on the pulse of weekly build volume.

The only thing holding me back from getting a Mach-E for my wife, is the amount they will give for my wife’s Chevy Bolt. We owe 20, and they will only give us 13.

"A Ford spokeperson said the poor EV sales were due to the model year changeover for the two vehicles and low supply on dealer lots. Going into April, Mach-E and F-150 Lightning were operating nation-wide on 9 and 19 dealer days' supply."

Corporate speak or honest numbers? Nine to 19 days supply is solid but total numbers sold is not...

At least in my area (within 200 miles),.there are virtually none available. Been like that for many months. Few people will order the truck they want. I won't because the contracts the dealers bring out to order is so ridiculously one sided to the dealer. Basically they can do absolutely anything they want and you have zero rights. Have busted a couple of sales people on that one. They didn't even try to claim otherwise. It hard to sell em when you don't have any to show.

Don't see any good news here. Lightning sales down 16.7% from April 2024 and down 43% last month
Ford Motor Company April 2025 US sales
It makes no sense.
The Ford Lightning is a great vehicle, EV or not.

Although how much is Ford advertising the Lightning? Ford may not want to sell many if they are still losing money on each one.

I wish they would think long term and sell as many as they can....even if they are losing money on each one. Selling more will widen its appeal.

Ford marketing really doesn't advertise their BEVs at all. Most, if not all, ads and commercials I see have the ICE/hybrid versions on the screen, maybe the Tremor or Raptor occasionally. I do see GM slap the Sierra EV and Silverado EV on their advertisements more often than I see the Lightning; however, I do see more Lightnings on the road than Sierra/Silverado EVs. Should lean more into the EVs imo, the Lightning is an amazing and capable truck for most use cases.

Exactly.

Great vehicle.
But Ford is purposefully not advertising it. And I get it, they are losing money on each one they sell.
I don't pretend to know the economies of scale necessary to get to at least breakeven (100,000 units a year? 150,000?) but selfishly I would love to see Ford push to sell a lot more of them.

At some point as the industry keeps bringing the cost of the battery down, it will be easier to make money on their EVs - provided they sell them in higher volume.

The Ford 'employee discount' for all is extended - just $3k or so though IRL. 450-mile range - GMC/Silverado are selling fast here in WA state - seemingly since they came way down in pricing.

Price is obviously a major consideration.

I hope the industry figures out production so they can sell EV Pickups in the $55,000-$65,000 range. It won't satisfy everyone, but it will go a long ways towards increasing sales.

Charging stations are another major factor, but now that I can use Tesla Superchargers I find it quite easy to charge when I am on the road or on a trip.

Ya, all the Ford ad's I see NEVER mention the Lightning. Occasionally they will show a passing glance at the front light bar, but that's about it. I keep looking for an ad showing my truck...but I guess that will never happen.
