While cool, I'm not willing to pay more to retrofit this truck with a better battery system than what it would cost me to just trade it for something more convenient. I think if the Lightning as it sits works great for you, perfect. If not, it's time to move to something better. That's just my $0.02. Why spend what will likely be $50k to convert an old truck to a new battery system when you can buy a NEW truck that suits your needs better for the same money?

Playing devils advocate here but, why replace the entire frame to get a monster truck, why add a supercharger and replace the electronics, why put in a bigger engine? It's just what people do.

There's a new player in the mix, and they claim to have figured out solid-state batteries. I know, I know, we've heard this line before. But, either this guy is a super BS artist, or they cracked the code.

Watch this video at the link below, and help me decide if this guy and his company is for real. If so, he just saved the Lightning.
