I drove it the moment It was finished whirring with the update, mid day. It’s not the same truck, everything is sluggish.
what can be done now to get it back to normal?
Hopefully it should be back to ~normal~ today when you drive it.

@TaxmanHog

Happy to see you finally received BC 1.4. Not sure how we got separated so far apart on updates. There for most of the year I would receive an update about a week after you did. For this one I finally received BC 1.4 back on June 6th, if memory serves me.

🤷‍♂️ there certainly seems to be no rhyme or reason to FORDs OTA’s🤷‍♂️.

Anyway, happy motoring.

Just as an FYI I already has the front sensor CSP done (which I understand to include the software for 1.4). The OTA 1.4 update said it would take 6 minutes and it ended up only taking 4. All it had to do is write whatever final configuration to activate it.

I did get a chance to briefly test it out. I like the auto lane change and that it scoots you over when next to a big truck. There was also a section where one lane divided into two where the lines widened all the way before center lines showed up. The truck handled it and kept going into the lane straight ahead. It slightly moved over at the beginning of the split and moved back, as if it was centering in the lane until it realized that the outer line was quickly moving away. I was expected it to shut off.

I got my 1.4 update today and just had a very brief ~5 mile stretch to test.
I am probably one of the first to get this update twice! 🤣

On Saturday I got this again, now on my 2nd lightning that I bought used in July. To be honest I had no idea what version of Bluecruise the truck was even on since there was no trial subscription on the used Lightning and I am not planning to pay the subscription fee except on the very rare case in which I would be doing some extended travel. As a 2nd owner though, It was good to see OTA updates coming through on the used truck. The last one I was aware of was installed 2 days before I acquired. I'm not sure if that was coincidence (my guess) or something the dealer somehow was involved with.

One thing to note... not that I am surprised but Ford is totally missing a upsell revenue opportunity if they are not chasing a Bluecruise update with brief trial offer (e.g. 30-day) for Drivers currently off-subscription so they can try and get them hooked into it after testing improved version. I doubt it would work on me, but it probably would work on some... or more likely a certain percentage would just forget they signed up for subscription which seems to be half the economy right now, which is people signing up for something and forgetting to cancel!

Truck is currently at the dealer. Apparently I needed to have a GCM module fix/updated as an problem within it would constantly report a low battery erroneously so all updates would fail. They are currently updating everything available for my truck so I shoud be to go for awhile.
