I ordered a second version from the original supplier of these Manion Makes after he introduced a "finless" version of the binnacle, which I much prefer.

Taking inspiration from the OP, I hit mine with a few coats of sandable primer, then matte black paint, then matte clear with plenty of sanding along the way. This looks closer to factory than my first attempt using a satin clear to finish, which was much too glossy.

I wanted it to turn out nice and not look rough and unfinished. I am no painter by any means but I took my time and I'm pretty happy with the result.

I went with the @PolymerBuilt version referenced above, but I agree, yours looks nice.
