2024 F-150 Lightning Orders Open; Flash Model Available Under $70K MSRP

DEARBORN, Mich., April 16, 2024: Online orders are open for the 2024 Ford F-150® Lightning® trucks, now shipping from the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center.

New tech updates for 2024 include:

• A Vapor Injection Heat Pump System to help optimize energy consumption, especially in colder weather conditions. Ford’s patented heat pump system utilizes vapor injection in both heating and cooling modes to help optimize system performance in various ambient temperatures
• Updated charging speed display on the instrument cluster so that customers can see charge status and speed of charge instantly, including an estimated finished charge time
• Key features from the Tow Technology Package become standard on XLT and above trims, providing Smart Hitch and On-Board Scales. Also included: 360 Degree Camera1, Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, Pro Trailer Hitch Assist ™ and Trailer Reverse Guidance
• Pro Power Onboard2 that works even while the truck is off for enhanced productivity
• Walk Away Lock functionality, allowing users to secure their vehicles
• Ford BlueCruise3 hands-free highway driving is an available feature on select trims. New features will be available on Lightning including Lane Change Assist, allowing the driver to switch lanes hands-free with a tap of the turn signal when the path is clear, and In-Lane Repositioning, which helps provide more space by subtly shifting away from vehicles in adjacent lanes

The MSRP of the 2024 F-150 Lightning is being reduced4, refer to the chart below. F-150 Lightning Flash™, now available with a starting MSRP5 under $70,000, comes packed with tech and an extended-range battery, 15.5-inch LCD Capacitive Touchscreen, a wireless charging pad, and Intelligent Access with Push-Button start, which encompasses keyless entry and available approach detection.

Ford has also made monumental moves to expand charging access to Ford EV owners by being the first automaker to gain access to the Tesla Supercharger network. Ford electric vehicle drivers now have access to more than 15,000 Tesla Superchargers7 through the BlueOval Charge Network, the largest integrated fast-charge network across North America8, with an available Fast Charging Adapter (NACS) using the FordPass App9. This more than doubles access to DC fast chargers10. Customers can order their Fast-Charging Adapter (NACS) here.

New capabilities with EV Routing functionality for Google Maps via Android Auto and Apple Maps via Apple CarPay® along with the new Public Charging app help to find charging stations and connect to individual chargers.

F-150 Lightning continues to be America's best-selling electric truck11 and was also recently voted the top-rated electric truck by Edmunds.

And those of you that purchased a BC enabled truck will receive update 1.4 before year end. Oh that was last year!

Now at least 4months behind the promised delivery date.

Does this mean that the rest of us will get the charge info on dash and Propower plus feature to use outlets while truck is off?

this is a nice change, although I'm now used to leaving the truck on, since it really doesn't 'matter' ... it's only the driver screen remaining on that tends to annoy folks... I just cover it with a towel if I'm concerned...

My wife's brand new Kia EV9 is the same way - you must leave the vehicle ON in order to provide 120v output...

So, I must be behind, the Pro is dead?

Most of this is coming to 2023 models. Obviously the heat pump is not, but I can't imagine the heat pump making a big difference. If it did Ford would have revised EPA numbers. They did that when they added heated seats to the Pro.

Fleet buyers only

Eventually our trucks will stop being updated in order to get us to upgrade. Right now, any BC upgrades are in the back burner until next year, when most of us are scheduled to subscribe…..

I expected all this from the beginning. Hopefully Ford improves on software with their new models.
It’s obvious we won’t be getting any type of Sentry mode or anything else we’ve recommended in this generation.

I think it’s misleading to say Flash is under $70K. That is MSRP for the vehicle only. It does not include the Destination Charge of $2095. Makes the Total MSRP as shown on Window Sticker slightly above $70K.

Interesting change of tact. Once you select a vehicle you can reserve it or order it. Also shows a Dealer Selling price but footnotes leave it open to dealer adds.

been meaning to ask someone this about propower. I have seen posters way they cover up the screen. Does engaging the calm screen not work when using pro power?

EPA Efficiency is generally not done at cold temperatures, typically its done at > 65oF so the impact of the heat pump at these temps is negligible.

But drop down into the 40oF and lower range and the heat pump will be significantly more efficient than the resistive heater, basically it'll improve cold weather range but not overall max range.

And for those that love the details, attaching the 2024 spec sheet.

Seen some misinformation around fast charging speeds throttled for 2024 to 120kw max. This is incorrect. 2024 is 150kw+ like previous models.

Also, for those asking… Since F-150 Lightning launched, we are continuously leveraging customer feedback in making it better.

The 2024 updates that are planned for previous MY include the new SYNC user interface design improvements. More to come on that!
