I cut it down and solder sealed it back together.I'll see if I can get it installed after I figure out how to get this extremely short power cable ran to the obd port.

I can also confirm the ferrite choke does nothing. Also, Ferrite does Jack on the comma power cable. Installed one on each end and a loop in the middle.
Ferrite installed on every cable in everyway possible way and it still flashes errors for about 5 seconds on startup. So harness modification looks like the only good solution still.
I was going to ask if it could be shortened. Wasn't sure what all it's sending through the cables. I'll cut it down once I have time to play with the unit.I cut it down and solder sealed it back together.
How long do you get errors for? Mine are just long enough to popup the message then they are clear. I'm not sure this bugs me enough to mess with it more than I have.I can also confirm the ferrite choke does nothing.
If you have a VIN we can try to check FDRS and see if the tron utility shows upI am working a deal to lease a 2025 Lightning.
Anyone know yet if the 2025 models have TRON encryption?

GWM shows a TRON key. That is a likely indicator of the encrypted canbus.Getting someone to check.
You can choose to use the OEM ACC or use the Comma ACC. The comma ACC has a lot more adjustability for follow distance, and acceleration and braking profiles. My experience has Been that aggressive drivers prefer Ford ACC and relaxed drivers prefer Comma ACC.Ok some questions about comma. Really my biggest question relates to the acc and braking. I have a 23 lariat w/BC included for 4 yrs which is nice. I like BC but one thing that drives me nuts is the braking. Like when in stop and go no matter what distance setting it’s on the system seems so aggressive with the brake. I drive a new transit van and it had acc. The braking was so smooth! No matter what someone did in front of me, cutting off quick stops etc somehow it was able to make nice consistent smooth braking events. It felt like how I would drive and do drive. Sometimes you eat up some of the following distance to create a smoother stop where the lightning does everything it can to keep that distance. Almost feels like it’s going to put the front into the ground to slow down. Hopefully you guys get the point. So question is when using the comma does it take over the following distance and braking to any degree or does the oem system always handle that?
That’s great news. This might just push me over the edge. Yeah sometimes I like to drive fast but mostly not aggressive and that’s what it feels like. I did see about the 30 day trial. I’m thinking I might just try it. Another question. I’ve been watching videos about sunnypilot and now I’m reading about blue pilot on here. I like that if you have the connected nav option on comma you can send a route to comma and it will mostly drive and in some cases kinda try and make some soft turns sorta like fsd does. In your opinion which is the best one for the lightning? I realize they are in beta etc. I’m not afraid to tinker and like testing new tech I’m just looking for some guidance on where the best way to start is. the best thing would to be either to find someone close and take a ride, or buy one and test it yourself. Comma has a no questions asked 30 day return policy if you don’t like it. Just cost $10 for return shipping.
BluePilot is just sunnypilot with a bunch of Ford specific patches applied. That’s great news. This might just push me over the edge.
